Biometrics Appointment

Hey Guys,

I filed for AOS last week and I was now concerned about the timeline of a biometric appointment. I was planning to go on a vacation after 2 weeks. I was wondering if the biometric appointment is on a specific day and time or is there a range of days within which I need to visit the USCIS office. I wanted to make sure that my vacation does not clash with the biometrics appointment.

As you can see from my timeline how long it took to get the notice and then I had my Biometrics Day 16 after their NOA date. I am sure it varies for each area (local office). But often you do get notice fairly quickly of when your Biometrics appt is. It is a specified date and time. you do have the option to reshedule if you are unable to make that appt.

how do you go about changing a biometrics appt?

not that I want to but..................Philly made the appt for 12:00 & I can not miss that much time from work.

It should say on your biometrics letter how to change the date. I think you should keep the biometrics appointment though to get it out of the way because who knows what time or day you'd get after rescheduling. Could be a worse time or day for you.

i.e. my appointment letter for the biometrics which was 02/12 in St. Louis it says in case you do miss the appointment you are able to walk in every wednesday at the same time as scheduled for the appointment up to a certain date. If that certain date passed and you did not have your fingerprinting done, the case will be abandonned.

Just check what your letter says! Good luck

My letter definatly did not say that I could show up every wednesday. It does however say "PLEASE APPEAR AT THE BELOW APPLICATION SUPPORT CENTER AT THE DATE AND TIME SPECIFIED. IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR AS SCHEDULED, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED." and further down the page there is a box where you can check off to Please reschedule my appointment when they receive this request they will provide a new appointment notice. So again like someone else mentioned you have no way of picking out the dates that will be issued. Good luck,
