Is the Embassy open on Monday?  It is President Day in the USA. Federal Holiday in the USA

More than likely not if it's President's day.

Edit. I have done some research and it is in fact closed on Monday.

Even with Cebu -  Age makes a difference with CFO, 60 years of age and above only need to receive the sticker in the passport after the visa is issued.   If under 60 then the counseling is required before issuing the sticker and with PDOS  you can't scheduling the appt until you have the visa in hand

Cebu is by appt the same as Manila, with a few exceptions.

She already stated they are under 60. Did Cebu used to be walk in?  Maybe I was thinking of Clark.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Thank you for the links! They were able to make an appointment via the website for the Cebu office on Monday! They have visa in hand. They are just waiting on the resealed packet. So hopefully the packet will come next week (it was at the embassy last Tuesday), and will also have the sticker after the counseling session in Cebu.

It would be so great if they would buy their tickets before the end of the month. They are paying rent in the Philippines and also fees for their new house in the U.S. Double bills are so pricey. This has taken so long.

Fingers crossed. We hope that next week goes well. Thank you so much for your help. We would not have known about the CFO sticker without your help!

Yes, I am aware, and the 2nd second gave her details on that.

I try to cover basics for future readers ;)

Yes, Clark is first come, first served.    Nice to see CFO having more locations.

Now they just need to add a Davao location and the country will be set. I don't see why someone from Mindanao has to fly to either Manila or Cebu just to take the stupid seminar. At least with my asawa she flew to Cebu from Davao because she just can't stand Manila at all and in Cebu she can still speak Bisaya.

I totally agree on needing a CFO in Davao or some place down that way.  Philippines is something like 1,100 miles long, that is a lot of traveling for a couple hour seminar.

(I spotted my typo in my other post .. sentence .    I am so good at typos!! )

Another reason not to fly to Manila because it's a 2 hour flight from DVO to NAIA and 1 hour from DVO to CEB.

Edit. Yes, I have flown both routes many many times.

Just for future people. Resealed packet arrived today! One week later, just like Hank said!!!!

And they were able to get CFO sticker on Visa at counseling in Cebu yesterday! Now they just have to pay USCIS immigrant fee (that's what they said in the seminar) and buy their ticket to the United States. Fingers crossed they will be flying to the United States at the end of the month.

To anyone sad about having to get packet resealed, it is not the worst thing in the world--it only feels like it. And, if 2Go says they don't have your package INSIST they double check.

Great news!  I am happy for you!

ELIS fee, I believe the amount is $220 now, but the online payment system will let you know for fact.
