Good evening,

I was a Peace Corps volunteer who recently completed my service in St. Lucia. I remained in the country and recently married a St. Lucian citizen. I am living here now but still have a residence in the U.S. We want to go back to the US for a week's vacation in April.  So I think the B1/B2 visa is the correct one. At this point I am not seeking citizenship for her and want to remain living in St. Lucia so a K visa does not seem like the right one.

Am I correct to think she should apply for a B1/B2 visa? Do you think we will have a difficult time convincing the CO that we intend to return?

Thanks for your help.

K is not the right visa because it is for the visa holder to become a resident and takes almost a year to get.

As for the B visa.  If she cannot show strong ties to her home country the consulate can be difficult

YMMV
