My interview was today. Great to spend Valentines day.The process was fast and easy. Immigration Officer just asked me questions in regards to everything i have filled in the N-400 form. Asked the Civic test and did some writing and reading.

Passed it but unfortunately a decision could not be made. She realized that my Permanent resident card still has the code of CR1 which is Condition Resident. It should no longer be a condition resident since I have been a resident of the United States since 2005.

I asked her what that means and she said that she has to fix it before she can proceed with a decision and it is on their side that made a mistake when my card was renewed.

Then she also gave me a date and time of Ceremony and mentioned that just to wait for the letter when everything has been taken care of. She said she will fix the mistake later in the day.

I was pretty bummed about not getting approved. That means more waiting and more of not knowing...

Has anyone ever experience this problem?

My journey:

08/07/17 - sent N-400 application

8/11/17 - Received the applicaton

09/15/2017 - Bio metrics taken

01/10/2018 - receive letter of interview date

02/14/2018 - Interview date.

Now waiting for decision.

You mentioned she gave you date and time of Oath ceremony means she intend to approve your N-400. What your online status, did you have online account then you might get letter uploaded there soon.

zoom - yes i have an online account where i can check my statuses. I will just wait for it to get updated. I guess when it comes to this stuff that unknown stuff, you tend to try and find comfort from others who might have had the same experience.

Thank you for your reply, it helps a lot.

Yes. I had the interview today as well. My I751 (Removal of condition green card through marriage) was adjudicated first before N400 was approved. No ceremony as they have to first update my status on I751, then on N400. They will mail letter for ceremony.

After reading your post, I started to experience a bit of brain bleeding. Then I realized that it's April 1st, so either you tried to punk us or the I.O. tried to punk you. Or . . . it was a drunken sailor that just dressed up as an Immigration Officer!

A decision can NEVER been made after the interview. As in at no time. Never. That's because every N-400 has to be reviewed by a supervising I.O. to make sure that nobody can buy or blackmail their way into US citizenship. The brain bleeding started when I read the CR-1 comment. It's the class of admission, and you were admitted to the United States of America as a CR-1, hence your Green Card has CR-1 listed on it. That can be changed as easily as your time of birth: not.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

That is way too funny,  I laughed out loud and nearly choked on my cup of tea.  I  wonder if a K1 translates to Konditional for dyslexic I.0's?

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

Congratulations!!! I had my interview yesterday as well. It went well but officer cannot give me an oath because ha has to review my ROC pending first. Don't know if he will approved it or request for more evidence and interview maybe for my ROC. Another waiting will begin.
