i don't know anything about 'the trial lawyers association' but the nea is not comparable with the nra. i think most of us agree that corporate money needs to get out of our political process. or, rather, i think we used to agree on that.

see the post following the nra/lobbyists post. i wasn't singling them out, i was speaking in context with the thread. we're talking about gun control, something the nra spends a ton of money to block.

There have been plenty of common sense solutions thrown out there without infringing the right for a citizen to own a gun. Problem is all of these common sense proposals are knocked down by the gun lobby and the pro gun advocates. They give up no room to compromise.

The NRA won't even allow funding into the research of gun violence, they and their advocates are terribly paranoid it'll mean their guns will be taken away.
