I’m not privy to the rules, but perhaps it was written so that X amount of revenue for the city, or X amount of fuel purchased, qualified for the discount.  I wonder if the loss of discount will really stick, or will it be quietly reinstated in another resolution down the road?

Its all political games I promise you

Yeah, it's all pretty silly if you ask me.  And have you seen where other cities are offering Delta a new home if they want to pull out of ATL?  Too funny.  As if Delta would ever waste that much money.  (Though their management CAN be very vindictive if pushed too hard).

I think Delta's hub in Atlanta is way too big to up and move over $50 million. Still a silly game for adults to play. Maybe Delta starts bumping Georgia politicians from first class to cargo? Might actually kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak.

Sorry about the face

This gives extra meaning to "defacing" the site, :dead: man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Certain posters like to talk about gun deaths in Europe vs the US.  It’ all abou the gun control.  The US is such a horrible place because of guns.  Et al.  Ad Nauseum and all of that.   But here’s something for you to chew on as you ponder what the REAL problem is.

So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country. According to research by Politifact, there were about 1.4 million firearm deaths in that period, compared with 1.2 million US deaths in every conflict from the War of Independence to Iraq.

I guess if they only list 29 mass shootings between 2009 and 2015, then yeah we look relatively good. Unfortunately a quick google search comes up with numbers in the range of 150 mass shootings and 850 deaths during that same period, and calculating the annual death rate manually puts us at 0.375 per million people, slightly behind Serbia. Well no one will catch Norway I suppose.

Crimeresearch.org says they use the traditional FBI definition of mass shootings. Clicking on the link to define that leads to a page trashing Bloomberg. They also just miss out the 3 worst mass shootings in US history by using the time frame of 2009-2015. Overall, only 2 of the 10 worst mass shootings appear during this time frame. Shoddy presentation if you ask me.

Since this was written in 2015, not sure they could have conceived of what was to come.  However, I suppose we can add multiple incidents for all countries to satisfy you.

   Less crappy than crimeresearch.org?  Definitely.

Always going to be "in the eye of the beholder" kind of thing.

No, I think number of mass shootings and number of people killed are quantifiable things. If a research site does a study and omits 75% of the things it claims to be studying, the uselessness of that site is also a quantifiable thing.
