The fact that the White House are considering arming teachers in schools shows how completely out of depth they are. I'm a teacher myself, and if I see this come to schools in Georgia I will quit the profession. It would not surprise me to see the majority of teachers do the same thing. 

 

More guns is not the answer, it's never been the answer. These recommendations are so reckless, it's just lunacy.

We can also make bullet proof vests part of the school uniforms. Arming teachers was one of the silliest solutions I heard yet.

 

I could never image my elementary school English or Spanish teacher pulling a gun and shooting a student.

Haha but they must leave their guns in the vehicles not on them or inside the classrooms.

Gun control works. Which country is the odd one out? Less people that have guns, the less gun violence there is. Hurry up America and get with the rest of the civilized first world.

Now I am not saying one way or another but to be fair my friends that went into teaching aren't exactly military minded (most love designing their monthly themed bulletin boards) . My father who was shot three times in war gave me advice one day when I was talking about owning a gun for home protection. 

 

If I own one I have to be ready to escalate a situation and be willing to kill someone and will I be okay with killing someone.

 

I honestly don't know what I am comfortable with (so for me I don't own a gun per my fathers thoughts) but teachers shouldn't have to be put in this situation either if they really just want to educate children. If the discussion is putting more guns in schools then hire professionals (like military), not teachers.

Which is why on average having a gun in the home does more harm than good. Your own gun is more likely to be used against you than the ninjas that attack at night.
