Come on, Yuna, you know better than that.  Mentally deficient folks.  Why try to make that comment a racial thing?

I'm not.

Statistically however the shooter is always between the ages of 15-25 and is a white male. Do you deny that is the case? It's one of a number of strange yet common factors. If you want to narrow it down to any male between the ages of 15-25, then sure - but it won't matter anyway because of the pushback. Other common factors seem related to mental health, however there are a variety of ways that the individual won't be diagnosed formally with a mental issue - and therefore will never be flagged on a background check. But I really wish the media would also start poking around where he got his other age-inappropriate firearms.

got it. the numbers i've seen put the vast majority from males between 20 - 49 so i don't think such a narrow window of added security (15-25) will be helpful.

America is 79% white.  It stands to reason most peeps will be white, right?

Seems to be a different profile in the inner cities.

So young white men and boys? I just can't see that going anywhere..

Again I'd be all for preventing children and teenagers from being able to purchase a gun. However this has not been the case for every school shooter. Some got them because their parents had them in the home, or the parents bought them for the kid. Adam Lanza's mother was pretty much just as responsible and negligent for all those homicides (including her own) as her son was imo.

Young non white boys mostly committed 3K just in Chicago last year. Tell me more about banning young white boys to solve the problem

Young black males are about 3% of the population and commit over 50% of vilest crimes. Want to talk about what we can do that  will make a real difference

I think its because mass shooting involves 4 or more people, so you also have domestic attacks lumped in. I don't want to make light of those, but they don't make the news.

can't ban guns, can't ban people. what to do what to do.

clearly the issue of mass shootings statistically speaking, is a male shooter issue.

and statsticaly speaking mass shooting are less than 1% of gun deaths in the USA

So why not attack the real problem with gun violence in the USA

yep. two years ago my next door neighbor was shot and murdered by his brother who then killed himself. i live in a county with about 80 people per square mile. it was on the local news, and briefly on larger networks but only because the brother was a former well respected police officer closer to dc.

And apparently there were no signs of serious mental illness, and he prepared the shooting in a way that no none of the victims stood a chance, even if they were armed.

Plus, unlike the younger kids he was wealthy.

because we're not allowed to address the real problem of gun violence. even here, talking about it now, it isn't about limiting access to guns - the conversation is about how to limit the existence of certain people. it blows my mind.
