As an older fellow, I too remember those days.  But there exists a group on here (representative of a larger group in America, I imagine) who still think guns are the problem.

Our country was founded on guns.  Without them, America as we know it would not exist today.  You and I saw guns in school.  I used to carry a pocket knife to class at the age of 7 or 8.  I remember kids wearing bigger knives in sheaths on their belts.  No one was stabbed.  No one was shot.

The root cause is humans. And the lack of respect for human life.

Why has the respect for human life seemed to have diminished in our culture?  That to me is the ultimate question.

So accordingly this morning the went through the records of the gun store where he bought the guns to see what exactly went on(just like I said they would). The gun store owner said that he bought a shotgun and a AK LEGALLY. But what got me was that she said he bought the shotgun in 2016, so probably right after he turned 18.

Did I say anything about Legal Immigrants? No, I did not say anything at all about them at all I am just stating a opinion. You can either agree with it or disagree with it. I also think it involves the media as well who are at the drop of a hat willing to destroy someone's life or livelihood for an accusation that has not been proven yet.

I actually doubt that, Cyber.  I think (perhaps HOPE is a more correct term) that the majority of immigrants, whether legal or illegal, are decent people who appreciate being here.

I personally think the shift in behaviors stems from the ever-increasing violence in video games  (think Zelda vs. GTA or CoD), combined with less hands-on parenting and lower expectations of children.  That and media coverage of violence, which not only causes possible desires to replicate the perp, but also serves as a "how to" for those who lack the moral compass needed to succeed without hurting others.

I actually think it goes deeper than video games, but I do agree they have impacts.  We all had violent cartoons, etc. when we were growing up, heck, I don't think they can even show most Road Runner shows anymore, but most of us were taught a healthy respect for human life by our parents and the other adults in our lives.  What happened to that education?

I can agree with that and upon further examination I think you are right about how the media coverage is just basically fanning the flames of all this BS. Also I want to apologize for my past statement and I would like to retract it.
