Not much of a plan.  I suppose the folks that are happier with the gun laws, or personal protection laws in other countries can move there.

your plan is telling those who want stricter gun control to leave the country. feels like our plans are about equal in effectiveness.

I said you need to look at the big picture, America is sick, it has a sick fascination or infatuation with guns. It's so sick people/children are sacrificed in the name of the 2nd amendment.

Novel idea taking away all of the guns, very effective in eliminating mass shootings don't you think? So if that isn't an option for the USA then maybe the pro gun advocates can meet those with common sense half way and make a deal, compromise, problem is they have no intention of doing it.

A sick fascination with guns..... It seems like this fascination led to us actually being a country instead of 13 colonies don't you think? We have been making deals left and right but you guys on the Left always want to take it to far and go for total confiscation of either guns or ammo, sometimes both.

From my perspective I know banning all guns isn't going to happen, guns  are far too ingrained in US culture. Having said that though measures can be taken to curb the frequency of these terrible incidents.

I love it when people say they what stricter gun control laws, but don't elucidate the details.  As we discussed earlier in another thread, enforce the gun control and immigration laws we currently have to the fullest, then start looking at making changes.

How are you going to get around the 2nd amendment?

It needs to be rewritten, updated, its antiquated, it was written in a time that has no bearing or meaning on modern day America. Problem is the spineless politicians in Congress who take bribes from the NRA to maintain the status quo.

strict gun control would not facilitate an 18 year old purchasing an ar15 after a ten minute wait.

OK I think the way incidents like this are dealt with is far too specific. We can look into the background of this kid all we want but it will not lead us to the answer. We need to look at the bigger picture and not focus solely on these incidents on a case by case basis. This is what is relevant:

  • 2018 2 killed in Kentucky high school shooting
  • 2017 2 killed in New Mexico high school shooting
  • 2017 1 killed in Washington high school shooting
  • 2017 2 killed in CA elementary school shooting
  • 2016 1 killed in SC elementary school shooting
  • 2014 4 killed in Washington high school shooting
  • 2014 1 killed in Oregon high school shooting
  • 2013 1 killed in Colorado high school shooting
  • 2013 1 killed in Nevada middle school shooting
  • 2012 26 killed in Sandy Hook Elementary shooting
  • 2012 3 killed in Ohio high school shooting
  • 2011 1 killed in Nebraska high school shooting
  • 2010 1 killed in Alabama high school shooting
  • 2008 1 killed in Tennessee high school shooting
  • 2006 5 killed in Amish schoolhouse shooting
  • 2006 1 killed in Colorado high school shooting
  • 2005 1 killed in Tennessee high school shooting
  • 2005 7 killed in Minnesota high school shooting
  • 2003 1 killed in Minnesota high school shooting
  • 2003 1 killed in Pennsylvania high school shooting
  • 2001 2 killed in California high school shooting
  • 2000 1 killed in Florida high school shooting
  • 1999 13 killed in Columbine High School shooting

This list doesn't even include many many other mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine

Over 3000 people shot in Chicago (just one city) last year with handguns. Attacking which problem would have a greater impact on gun crime ?

Pro gun advocates how far are you willing to compromise based on this survey of gun and non-gun owners?

Good luck with that.  I suppose we should re-write the 1st, 4th, and 5th while we are at it?

all you flakes wanting to put people on lists and confiscate their property becuse someone thinks that are acting strange

I know the MDL hates the constitution but this one is the bedrock of our liberty

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

unless you're a victim of gun violence, then you have zero rights and the constitutional bedrock of liberty no longer applies to you.

So if you see that as an absolute then America accepts the killing of children in its schools.
