No don't think he had any issues in knowing how to use a gun, considering he was a member of a neo-Nazi group, participated in kewl Nazi pew pew in the woods drills, and was a member of the ROTC. He also had a history of killing animals... sounds like he was well on his way to be an atypical serial killer.

I'm sure kids feel safe when part of their disaster drill involves how to hide and be silent in the likely event, a shooter enters their elementary school.

 

Nothing but hollow empty words.

It's nearly predictable tbh. We haven't heard too much from the relatives of the kid (he was adopted and doesn't sound like he had any guiding force from family but from outside groups)... though I have heard rumblings that the deceased father or other relative may have also been involved at one time.

troubled youth get involved with gangs/neo nazis for a sense of belonging. makes sense. and his mother recently died from the flu. perfect storm.

One of the few times that I agree with you. This kid should have been on a statewide list due to how mental he was. I know in NC they have list like that for Handgun purposes.

 

Jordan Jereb told The Associated Press on Thursday that his group wants Florida to become its own white ethno-state. He said his group holds “spontaneous random demonstrations” and tries not to participate in the modern world.

Jereb said he didn’t know Cruz personally and that “he acted on his own behalf of what he just did and he’s solely responsible for what he just did.”

He also said he had “trouble with a girl” and he believed the timing of the attack, carried out on Valentine’s Day, wasn’t a coincidence.

Nineteen-year-old Cruz has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder in the shooting.

He obviously had serious mental issues because the school made him bring his things in a Ziploc bag and not in a bookbag. So there was something there that some should have said something to them. What's this I hear about how the FBI got a tip about him a couple months ago as well??????????????? Sorry but I get a tip on someone about how they may shoot someone then I am going to investigate and take any and all guns in the house away, not to mention make him ineligible to buy one until he gets a court order.

i'm sure you realize that the fbi can't currently raid every persons home and confiscate their weapons that makes a questionable comment on youtube. and i'm also pretty sure that the school administration has zero control over an expelled students ability to purchase a weapon.

So when is his bday and when did he turn 18? If he was in school at that time they could have control over it. Also if there is a threat like this and someone reports it then yes they should have followed up on it. But alas they are still looking for that Russian collusion so no manpower to actually look for credible threats.

what? anything to avoid common sense gun control i guess. sure, public schools should be monitoring former students' extra curricular activities and gun purchases. like they don't have enough to do already.
