Hi, so I went for my medical at Knightsbridge London. Everything went ok I think. Blood pressure was fine , eyes etc , don’t know about the X-ray or urine . But I had a syphils infecfion in 2017 in Asia and I provided the paper work that Japan gave me and the dr said the treatment in Asia is different to the treatment in the uk / USA standards . She said I may have to have 3 injections in weekly intervals and email them the the proof after it before they send the report to the embassy . But my question is I have my interview next week the 21/2/2018 and the dr said I should still go but they will hold off or something on processing it if it’s approved pending the results of the medical . Does anyone know if it’s worth going to the interview or trying to change it ? As im in the north of England and it’s a nightmare to travel down to London so quickly as it’s super expensive

PERSONALLY I'd reschedule the interview, since thats a simple process for us in the UK.  Otherwise you'll get put into AP until they get the medical report, and you can sometimes get stuck there for a while.

Its much more smooth to get the medical all approved and sent and THEN have the interview so that your approval is immediate rather then added administrative work.

I would reschedule the interview once you know 1) if you need injections and 2) when you can get them scheduled with your GP. Then plan on at least a week after the last one. Get all your ducks in a row before planning an interview.

This is true , but I already have a hotel and train booked lol! And obviously it’s non Refundable due to the cheapest rates . Also if I wait for after the injections i may have passed my k1 expiration date I think !

The xpiration doesn't matter - you just would need an updated letter of intent to marry from your USC..... as for the money, thats a choice you have to make I guess - it is obviously a consideration - I live right near London so I didn't really think about that, but yeah - what i said logistically is still how I'd proceed in my situation.

Ok that’s good to know :-) thank you . I’m assuming if I don’t hear anything from Knightsbridge then it’s ok right? They wouldn’t send a medical form not approved to the embassy right ? If I need something treated etc? That’s my main concern . If they would just send it already failed ?

They have to let you know because anything you'd get denied for, you'd require treatment for. They have to tell you right away if thats the case.

I dont think they'd hold it until you get treatment... sorry - I just thought you were saying you're worried they wouldn't tell you if you need treatment.  I assume they'd let you know you require treatment and would also send the form stating that you have that particular ailment.  I dont know that part for sure though.

Hi, thought id update you, I had my interview as I hadn't heard from the DR. The embassy didn't have my results but approved me awaiting them.

The Dr then calls me 20 mins after leaving the embassy saying she was happy with the treatment ive already had on my infection and said she had approved it and signed it off a being ok and under control. We had about a 30 min chat about what I had done and she even said if id gone to her other clinic in London she wouldn't re treat me due to my results showing improvement over the year and she said the embassy should accept her decision but cant be too certain as she has to tell me both scenarios but she seemed happy on the whole thing. So hopefully they sent the Results over that day and im currently in AP still waiting the results I guess or just general AP I don't know. But overall it seems to be ok
