The approved I-129F will be forwarded to NVC. I think you are asking whether they will send another NOA2 approval notice to you without filing the I-824 and paying $200. The answer is probably not. There is no hurry to get your hands on the NOA2, so you might try pressing the issue. Can you prove you changed your address with them BEFORE they mailed it?

If you want to press the issue, I suggest making an infopass appointment.

If you were approved back at the end of February, your case should've been forwarded and, I'd think, you'd have heard something from the embassy already. Can you fill in the rest of your details so people can provide more help?

I wouldn't sit on this too long - the I-129F approval CAN expire!

You said in your first post that the Feb 28 notice said you they had "approved" your petition. That's an NOA2. That means approval. What exactly did it say and how did you find this out?

It's not making sense to me.

What you've said sounds a little confusing (and maybe it's just me) - it may be because there's no time line info...but if it's your NOA1, not your NOA2 you're looking for - am not 100% sure you'd need it.. The confusing part is you say you have a notice of having been approved in which case you would need that NOA2.

For $200 I'd press it a bit with them - you didn't lose it, the postmaster has instructions to return such mail so they would have gotten it back - I seriously doubt their 'customer service' is at a level where they would mail it back to your correct/new address..

TimsDaisy,

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but the USCIS has an online case status information service that you can check periodically to receive information such as this. :)

YMMV

So, have you called the NVC and asked them where your case is?

ummm...i called csi and they told me about the I-824 . i have not called NVC ( by the way what does that mean ) . ill look into that , and get back with you .

Please read the K3 guide. NVC is the National Visa Center. If your I-129F is approved, by now your K3 case is probably already at the Embassy or Consulate and a P3 should be sent soon. Now is the time to call NVC to confirm this and then to call DOS, Department of State, to find the status of your case. NVC 603.334.0700 select menu options -1-5. DOS, 202.663.1225 menu 1-0-0.

You need that NOA2 but nothing more is going to be mailed to YOU until after she arrives. Make an infopass appointment and take the proof you changed your address. Perhaps you can get a replacement NOA2 without paying the two hundred bucks.

You do NOT NOT NOT want to move during the adjustment of status. If you think you might, then you would be very wise to obtain a box at the UPS store or similar facility, so this doesn't happen again. These agencies instruct the post office not to forward their mail. You'll be in a world of hurt if you miss mail during the AOS process. They'll assume you abandoned the green card/permanent resident status process and take action accordingly. Harsh but true.
