Exactly.  And fraud is going to happen regardless because they are not proposing to eliminate EBT cards altogether.  A portion of a person's benefit would still come through the card.

This proposal is really a joke in my mind.  Any time they are proposing to create a new government bureaucracy, it is a bad thing.

It's ridiculous.  They did this back in the 80s with WIC.  They delivered milk, cheese, bread, eggs, cereal, etc to your home.  They stopped doing it because it was so costly.  WIC recipients now get vouchers to go to the store and purchase their own items.  Again, lack of research, ingenuity, and common sense.

That is my take as well.  I understand that fraud will take place, but why add additional cost to a program.
