Hi everyone! me and my wife are finally getting ready to send our I-751 packet out to remove her two year conditional status!

Also our living situation is a bit different than most. We don't have a mortgage/rent as we have been living in my Dad's house to help us save money to buy our own house since 2015 and are just trying to get stable financially a bit. Is there anything special that a should mention about that?

Here is our checklist and files we are sending.

I-751– Joint Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence Checklist

  • Cover Page

  • Form I-751 with Check for Form I-751 + Biometric fee $680 total

  • Copies of Passports for (My Wife) showing her name change to mine after marriage

  • Copies of Green Card (I-551) for (My Wife) (Front and Back)

  • Copy of Joint Health Insurance letter showing status

  • Copies of Health Insurance Cards

  • Official IRS Tax Transcripts of Joint Fillings from 2015-2016

  • Official Bank letter showing Joint Account

  • Copies of car insurance notices (My wife doesn't drive yet, she didn't in Japan either and is just starting to learn so no License yet but she has been added to our insurance of course)

  • Copies of letters showing delivery to our address

  • Letter from Veterinary Clinic showing pets/cats being registered to both of us

  • 30 Photos of us together spanning the time since our marriage (We're not huge photo takers of ourselves)

Does this look okay? I don't have a 401k, life insurance or anything just yet. Like I said we're trying to get financially stable like most younger couples but we love each other and are very happy.

Thanks everyone!

Explain in the cover letter your living situation. We are same like you living with my father-in-law until we save enough money to buy a house.

We include a notarized letter from my father-in-law stating that we've been living in his house ever since and we included a scanned copy of his driver's license that shows the same address as me and my husband's license.

You can also include living wills and medical power of attorney. Like the previous comment mentioned, include bank statements spanning the 2 years of you guys living together.

I would but my bank doesn't send bank statements monthly for GREEN/Economy purposes. Everything is online. I can print them from the website that so that should work right?

My father is going to write an affidavit about us living with him since our time together from 2015. Is 1 affidavit good enough given our situation?

We include 2 signed affidavits from my grandmother-in-law and a close friend of ours. It is a secondary evidence. It is up to you if you want to include it.

What about tax transcripts or a tax form for 2017?

Yes as this pertains to your living situation and why you do not have a joint lease, rental agreement or mortgage.

Ok. You had 2015-2016 on the checklist.

Oh i see. 2017 won't be filed in time. We plan on sending the packet out soon. We are still waiting for forms to properly file. That shouldn't be a problem though right?

I don't know, but I would include at least a copy of your 1040 if I were you (even if you can't get transcripts in time)
