Hi all,

I tried to search it first but I could not find a good answer for my question.

I checked the box on Form I-765 that says "Forward your information to get a SSN." On 02/08/2018 I received an email notifying me of EAD Approval. Now, do Social Security send my card by themselves or do I have to go an apply?  I understand that I-765 was not always like this, so please only those who had to fill out this version of the form should respond :) I want personal experiences.

Thank you all! This forum has been of much help and support!!

you need to go to a local Social security office with your ead card in hands your passport and any address evidence. yo will need to fill out a form and they will send your social security to your house.

Have you done that? Why wouldn't they mention it if I need to do that?

Go to www.ssa.gov and you will see the instructions on how to apply for your social security card.

Thank you. That's what I was asking!! :)

Hey,

I've just found out that my EAD was approved and sent to print. Was wondering what your experience with SS card was in the end? How long after the EAD did it arrive?

Thanks

I waited for EAD and went to SSA. I applied on the same day and received it within 10 days.

Good luck and congratulations! :)

Thanks for the info!

DO they give you your SSN there and then or do you have to wait for the card?
