How is Valentine's Day celebrated in Philippines?

I have never been in the Philippines during the Valentine's Day period. Is it commercial like in the USA? Do men give wives / girlfriends / significant others candy, cards , chocolate and Flowers? What do the women normally give the men in their lives ? Those living in the USA have your wives freely embraced the Valentine's Day fervor as we practice here. Just curious on this one.

Yes the fervor is even more so than here in the USA because you know pinays are very romantic. I was there once for Valentine's day and I got my then fiance  flowers and to say she was envied is a understatement.

Why don't you go all out for your asawa for Valentine's day.

No Hallmark .. so not the same for National Hallmark Day   .. it started out as a  pagan fertility festival back in the days of the Roman empire.  :)

Haha haha but you know they love Valentine's day.

Oh they do enjoy Valentine's but there is not all the hallmark b-s .. most don't do the flowers or candy even.   But they do embrace the fertility festival!!

Then Halloween is totally different also.

Just because they don't get anything doesn't mean the women don't want it. The younger women love Valentine's day because pinays are romantics at heart.

Never heard of that.

All women appreciate attention from their special someone.   That one is universal  ;)  :)

I think that's what the OP is wondering. I guess he is wondering if he should try to woo back his wife. At least that's what I gathered from his two posts.

Totally agree but that's what it sounds like to me. Especially from his first post this makes me think that.

The OP is not wondering , but, just asking a question. I honestly did not know about how , or, if the day is a holiday observed in Phil. You gents don't have to be condescending , or, put a spin on a basic question. I already have what the gifts to give , whether they woo or not is immaterial , my gift is in the giving and that is what matters.
