You have to get the forms online. Its in a PDF of instructions. The last page is a medical form that you take to the appointment (along with the interview letter, your passport, vaccination records and some passport photos)

See attached.

Ive emailed Remuera Medical to make an appointment, awaiting a response.

ACK_Auckland.pdf

I already got that but apparently theres another bunch of forms that the consulate will email.

I will give them a call and ask if they could email it asap because i want my medical done this month as I am away 10 days before the interview (and they require it to be done at least 2 weeks from the interview date).

I was emailing the consulate myself this morning about the Police check, they only keep it for 3 months. I submitted mine back in December so will probally need to get a new one before the interview.

I got the forms from Remuera medical, you are right, there are a few more forms to fill in.

I also got an email from the Auckland Consulate, mostly a rehash of stuff I already knew, some different things though, they want

* Passport photos in NZ size (not US size)

* A copy of my resume

* A self addressed A4/Foolscap courier bag (signature)

Getting plenty of experience filling in forms :/

Yea, i got them from both the Consulate and from the Medical Centre.

Where the forms talk about "Document Type" and "Document Number" - thats your ID, mine is Passport for type and Passport number for the other.

Just had my medical.

Make sure you have all your vaccination records. Otherwise you're about $100 out of pocket plus you get jabbed twice plus you have to do the blood test as well! My partner and I feel so weak and sleepy after those two vaccines so make sure you have a good rest afterwards. It is an expected side effect I think.

Good to know. I've got mine on Tuesday. Not really looking forward to it.

Appointment was for 14.00 but got there at 13.25 and didnt get called in till about 14.15. Finally completed everything at 17.00 (nurse, urine test, doctor, vaccines, blood test, and x-ray).

If you have a friend who works in hospital and has access to EMLA (numbing cream). Ask them to give you some. Worked magic for my partner who is needle-phobic. Apply about an hour before your appointment.

Medical all done. Glad to have that done.

1pm appt, showed up 20 mins early. They took my documents as soon as I arrived.

Time with the doctor was short. I had a letter of prior vaccinations f my GP so that made the vaccinations go easy.

All done by 3pm (including X-ray and blood/urine tests)

Now just the interview!

Have you got all documents ready?

Yea, i think so. Just need to get updated Kiwi-saver balances and such.

Got to remember to send the documents to the Embassy the week prior. I checked, They are ok with the documents being couriered up (i'm in New Plymouth).

Have you been to the Consulate before? be aware that its like airport security to get in. Hand over all bags and electronic devices. You only take in your paperwork.

I'll keep an eye out for you on the 17th, I'm Drew if you want to say hi :)

Kiwisaver? Did you ask you for that? In the email from the consulate they asked for evidence of funds/assets.

I'm Vince btw.

Kiwisaver is part of our proof of assets. If you move overseas permanently, you can withdraw the entire amount (less an tax credits and the starting $1000) after 12 months.

That is a lot. Although in my case they don't require as much since I am employer-sponsored and exempt from a lot of the income/support requirements. I will send mine on Saturday.
