10-15 days, but I would imagine that they are backed up with files sent before mines. I know the latest is 60 days so anything before then is a blessing.

They don’t do anything in order. There were people who were placed in AP after me and got taken cared of before me, so you possibly can get lucky & have a quick turn around. I’m praying you do and don’t have to experience this black hole of AP like myself and one other VJ member I know is going through. It’s just straight torture waiting in the dark with no updates.

Im starting to put two and two together, I may be wrong but I'm starting to think that they may take a while to verify the Divorce decree's, I did not supply them with a translated version because I read that as long as its in French or English its fine. Im really not going to get my hopes up :(

In your case have you tried requesting to speak with a supervisor and or emailing the National Visa liaison? I heard once you surpass the 90 business day mark (Minus all holidays and protest) you qualify for an expedite request.

I definitely believe they’re trying to verify the divorce decree and since it’s from the Haitian government only God knows when that check will be done or come back.

This is my first time hearing of the National Visa Liaison. How do I get in contact with them because it’ll be 5 months on March 12th since I’ve submitted our additional documents. 🙄

I can't find the 1st website that had all the contact information but I found this 2nd one that was pretty helpful. This was written by an immigration attorney.

  1. escalate the inquiry to a supervisor within the consular post
  2. contact the Department’s Visa Office
  3. follow up through the committee that provides liaison between the Department and the American Immigration Lawyers Association
  4. if the case involves a student, scholar, or professional in the sciences applying for a nonimmigrant visa to engage in science-related activities in the U.S., ask the International Visitors Office of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to file an inquiry with the State Department
  5. file a Congressional inquiry through a member who is willing to be helpful

Oh yes! I’ve been doing all of these. My congressmen contacted them as well back in December and they responded in January saying they’re taking a while due to the “security situations” in Haiti. But things didn’t start getting bad in Haiti until Janurary & I submitted my documents back in October. So I wonder what’s the real reason behind it taking so long. Sadly, all we can do is be extra patient after exhausting all those avenues. Thank you for the info though :).
