@100%pozitiF#love February 25

Yea you might wanna look into that as soon as tomorrow. During non crazy times in Haiti (which is rare) they take a while to provide archives (I believe 6-8weeks in most cases) & Haiti is HOT right now with violent protests and such so that may cause even more delay. It’s deff important for the interview though and double check everything on the archives when you get it before walking out of the building because they love making mistakes. I hope all goes well though!

Not yet. I got my congressman involved and the embassy response was sort of general but they said cases in the type of AP I’m in is taking longer than ususal due to all the security situations in Haiti, so they can’t give an estimated date of completion. 🙄 My fiancé and I patience is being thoroughly tested lol. It really sucks, but nothing we can do but wait. My congressmans’ office is being really helpful though and they want me to contact them again in March if I still don’t hear anything by then. I’ll keep this thread updated if/when I hear anything. Hopefully it’s an approval/issued visa after all this waiting!

Checking everything in Archives is the most important advice you can give, My fiancé interview was back in September, he didn't have his official divorce documents nor mines, When I first sent in the application I included a document I received from the judge stating my divorce was official, I thought that was a divorce license not knowing I was suppose to get an actual certificate, I wish I received an rfe for those documents instead of being told this at the interview, anyways long story cut short they asked my fiancé for both our divorce certificates along with his marriage license which was weird, he received both in December even though he was told copies take a month. both of his documents had spelling errors in his name we had to submit it into "judgement" the divorce certificate came back good all the way in January due to all the chaos and protest and the marriage  one came back with the same issue, we paid for it again and finally got it back on Tuesday of this week. He turned everything into DHL on Wednesday and now I'm just waiting for the embassy to get the documents. This has been a nightmare. we lost so much money and trying to expedite this process. the first guy he went to told him these things take 3 months some time to get documents because there's no organization in government offices. we thought he was lying but now I see it was the truth. this took almost 5 months!

@IssaCaptureFL OMG, I’m so sorry you had to go through all that ! Trust me I feel exactly what you’re going through because my fiancé had to return his divorce archive 3 times before receiving the correct one. Luckily he knew someone who worked in there so it was a quick turnaround time, but that still took about 2-3 weeks with knowing someone. I’m confused as to why they would ask for the marriage certificate? That’s so weird. I’m not sure if you or your fiancé have kids but I feel like when there’s both a previous marriage AND kids involved in a Haitian union they make things more difficult and ask for extra unnecessary documents.

The protests in Haiti are delaying soooo much right now. If anyone is put into extended AP or if they need to verify/ do any field investigations to complete a case they are taking FOREVER due to all the chaos in Haiti right now. I pray those who have their interview coming up receive on the spot approvals & speedy visa delivery’s because anything put to the side for further review/processing will be there for a while. I had my interview back in September as well, submitted additional docs early October. My case updated about 3-4 times, after that they haven’t touched my case since Nov. 5th. My CEAC only updated on Jan 4th after my congressman made a congressional inquiry. They are deff using the chaos in Haiti as a reason to take their sweet time so DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING & go prepared! If you think you “might” need it, BRING IT!

That’s the sad part we paid a family friend to get it for us because he had contacts in the inside he told us the turn around time was 2 weeks. 2 weeks later he claimed it was ready and give him one week. The he used the I’m sick routine for another 2 weeks then he went traveling. We gave up on him and ended up doing it the Regular way. And I have children he doesn’t. At first we were only working on getting the divorce documents until we read the 221g letter where they wrote they needed the marriage license as well. That kind of slowed us down too. I got my divorce certificate in 2days so seeing how Haïti process things had me extremely upset. I couldn’t even log into VJ anymore I was so depressed.

@IssaCaptureFL We definitely could’ve been each other’s support system because we’ve been going through it as well. The Haitian government is sooo bad & they don’t care about anyones personal agenda. They only care about their money & that’s it. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to vent or talk anything out. Hopefully you get a speedy response after all that mess you went through. Good luck & God bless!

Also, if anyone had an interview tomorrow, it has been cancelled due to all the protests & security reasons in Haiti.

I figure they would have started cancel appointments. I hope everything calms down for next week. My fiancee has his interview next week.
