@Sej After reading through the packet 3 instructions i noticed it does not mention anything about getting a police certificate just the medical. If it was required for K1 applicants wouldnt that be on there? Is it on there and i just missed it? Hmm.

so my fiance is having trouble getting his criminal background check completed. Any ideas would help... he has now gone to 3 places and they’re not able to help him.

My fiance knows someone that works at the place so if it is a success for him I will post the info

As far as packet 3 goes. Do you have to pay the $265 first or get packet 3 first. Because our case just got transferred to haiti from Dominican republic😁😁😁. And I sent an email to request packet 3 because I was told it takes a while and I wanted to get ahead of it....so now that its there I called and asked if the case number is the same so we can pay the fees and the rep told me that  the same. However don't I need to pay the fees first before they can even send me a packet 3 does anyone know anything about this?

Let me know if you find out because we can save money if not needed. I searched on here about that and they all say it never asked for because they say it's not reliable

How long did it take you to get it after the request. I pit my request in on the 12th

Next business day i believe i sent request on a friday got it on monday

I just searched on here also. I dont believe it is required. Everyone that has completed the process has said that they didnt ask for it. I believe they would mention it in instructions if it really was needed. I plan on emailing embassy about that later just to be sure. I had him go try to do it yesterday and they was like "oh are machine is broke so you gotta come back on Thursday" and im just like really, people in Haiti be playing too much... everythings always broke...lol

Nope you didn’t miss it, It’s not in there but then again it’s a universal letter and doesn’t really ask for anything not even the i-134.  I feel like they gave you so little info that they set you up for failure. But in my experience they don’t ask the certificate often, and sometimes not even the affidavit of support.  But sometimes they do ask all of them and it all depends, sometimes they ask you stuff that doesn’t have anything with anything. If you can get it do so if it’s impossible than go without it. And it doesn’t cost a lot it’s about 10 usd if I am not mistaken. Altough on the NVC website it does mention it for k-1 visa but it’s also country specific. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#6 find it under documentation.

First you go pay it at DGI then you go do the application at the DCPJ. It’s in the capital at P-AU-P, trust me if I had the adress I would put it on here. But for some reason I can never get an address out of any Haitian it’s always something like( you go straight, than left and another left.....) lol.

Try to contact the embassy to get a straight and a more reliable answer, it will probably help future applicants a lot.
