Does anyone know what’s considered too early to obtain a police certificate? My fiancé is heading to Port au prince today and he’s coming from St Michele de L’ attalaye and for those of you who are familiar with the villes, it’s a bit of a distance. Therefore, I wanted him to just get that out of the way now as well. We’re still waiting on NOA2, but I’m 193 days in waiting for a response, which is basically a little over 6 months.

My Hubby went there the other day  to obtain one and they asked for the copy of the approval letter. Have him print out. I was told it takes 15-20 days to receive it.

Finally our interview is scheduled, only thing we do not have as of right now is the Police report & the Medical, Interview is set for September 4th so I advice him to do the medical 2 weeks prior to the interview since that's the requirement for Haiti.

*** As of right now there are appointments available from September 4th - the first week of October. ***

Yay! Glad to hear things are moving along for you. Our case just got approved and I’m sooo excited waiting for NOA2 in the mail & trying to figure out what to do next? Lol I’m going to read back on this thread to see what next steps are.

Feel free to provide any tips, do’s, & donts. Also can anyone tell me what the updated visa fee is at Sogexpress? I’m hearing $265-$365. Can anyone give me an accurate price plz?

Feel free to provide any tips, do’s, & donts. Also can anyone tell me what the updated visa fee is at Sogexpress? I’m hearing $265-$365. Can anyone give me an accurate price plz?

1. The first thing I did once I received my approval letter in the mail was fill out the DS-160 for my fiancé,  Once I completed it to him I provided him with the login information to him so he would be able to login and click submit. Basically once you reach to the last page just click on Save & Finish later I forgot the exact wording of it.

2. Next thing is to send him a copy of the approval letter and have him get the police report, heard the wait time for it is around 20-30 Days and they require a copy of the visa approval.

3. Once I received the case number from the NVC which took 12 Business days, I had my fiancé submit the DS160

4. NVC to ready is trending to take approximately 19-20 days and approximately 5-7 Business days to reach Haiti.

5. Once it says In transit or ready feel free to pay the Visa fee ($265) in Haitian Money only they will not accept U.S currency, you won't be able to schedule the appointment until the following morning at 9am. When you login to the website to schedule the interview it will say you have an receipt on file or something within that term just click on it and it will bring you to the scheduling page.

6. Once you schedule the interview make plans to do the medical 2 weeks prior to the interview. it can not be more than 2 weeks old.

I took the chance and scheduled the interview when the status still said at NVC because I did not want to risk having to schedule an interview all the way in September, luckily everything happened real quick for me lol or I would of been panicking. I had my fiancé asked one a friend of an embassy worker if scheduling the interview before it said ready was a risk they stated only if the interview date was right around the corner and it was still at the NVC, and that even if that is the case to change the interview it at least one week before the scheduled date.

Hope this is helpful.

You can fill out the DS160 on this sight: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

However you have to wait until you are approved and case is at NVC

For the background, that cant be completed until you are approved, they will need a copy of the approval letter, takes about 15 - 20 days to get back

the medical will be the last thing you do. it can not be more than 2 weeks old from the date of the interview.

So still no response ! Waiting to know if  we’re approved or not . It’s way past the two weeks that they told us we would get a response . Called  the embassy . I keep getting transferred or hung up on . I literally hear the phone get picked up and hung up . Frustrating , any ideas ?? Went to a dual interview for k1 visa ( my fiancé’s second but first for me ) and the person interviewing us said that in two weeks we would know . Well it’s way past that .

During your interview, did they have the original I-129F packet you had prepared initially?

I am currently putting together the proof of our relationship likes pics & whatsapp chats, but I had already sent most of that with the I-129F packet.

Okay so:

Good news: Fiancé got his archives nationales paper for his divorce decree

Bad news: they misspelled part of his first name by one letter! “Nigther” is how it’s supposed to be spelled but they spelled it “Nighter” instead. Difference is the “t” should come before the “h”.

Although my fiancé’s name was all over the document correctly and it’s their job to be more precise, I kind of don’t blame them because that part of his first name is very tricky to someone reading it for the first time.

I’m so upset because I do not think my fiancé checked it thoroughly before leaving the bureau and now he supposedly has to pay it again to get it fixed when it was their mistake! (Haiti never ceases to amaze me when it comes to important documents) 🙄😒.

Anywhoo my question is do you really think it’s that big of a deal with that single swapped letter or do we have no choice but to pay in order for them do it all over again?

I would go back and have them change it. You really want to be absolutely positive its right and through the process, they really do stress that the name has to be consistent throughout.

Question - my fiance came back with his archives nationales paper. His birth certificate had a bar code on top but not his divorce paper. Basically, what he got was the same divorce degree he's had since his divorce was finalized but with some extra language at the top right hand saying it's an extrait. Mind if I DM you a screenshot of what I got (the header)? This is altogether confusing.

So ready for him to leave Haiti behind silly stuff like this that stifles a lot of folks.

@IssaCaptureFL @KweenDo you or anyone else in the process know what the embassy is referring to when they ask for the following:

The day of your appointment with the doctor, you will be required to submit your profile creation confirmation page.

I am assuming this means the profile creation confirmation page for the DS160, but where is that? I have the confirmation page that the DS160 has been submitted, but what is this? Any insight! Much appreciated!
