Booking a flight before having received and checked the visa is a risk.  There have been cases which resulted in delayed arrival and/or mistakes on the visa.  Best advise to book flights only after having the visa in hand....good luck!

Thanks for the advice... but you know the anxiety is kicking in because I’m ready for him to be here lol ... I needed this reality check because we are dealing with govts.

I really want to book his flight for Sunday.. do you think he will have it then?

I’ve done it but it’s a bad idea the only way you could is buy a refundable ticket this way you have no worries, and they have insurance sometimes. But I mean sunday is a big gamble because dhl haven’t even say it’s ready yet and having your fiance by easter is kind of a big stretch. So my opinion is no but you are free to do it if you want just have a safety net.

They didn’t ask us the i-134 but the amount you have in your checking and saving don’t matter that much. Only your income matter it would if you were self-employed or are using assets only.

So do they actually need the paperwork that states what is stated on the I-134 instruction? (i.e.: date you open your account?) Or a bank statement is sufficient enough?

If you can get a letter from you bank it would be nice but I have no experience in that they didn’t even ask for my tax return or any financial for that matter. But I think if you can get it talk to your bank and get these info it would be nice. I myself was only able to get employer letter the bank wouldn’t and I could get my statement from way back to the day I open the account so that’s what I provided but then they didn’t even bother to ask for it. My theory is since you will have to file for green card and with that come an affidavit form also that’s probably when they will be focus on it.

Thank you for the information and quick reply. One more thing... Where do I file the I-134? I'm in California. Or does my fiancé just take it during his interview?
