Hello, I'm hoping the wealth of experts out there can help me with this.

Im more than just a little confused here about the visa issuing and tracking process that occurs after the successful interview.

My fiance was approved the morning of Feb 8. That afternoon i put into her CGI site the info as to which 2go location we would be picking up the visa. I noticed that on Friday her dashboard was blank. Now, today Monday it is still blank.

So the question(s) are: Is that normal? Does the dashboard ever fill in before the visa is delivered to the 2go location? Is tracking only something that pertains after the visa leaves a 2go terminal?  Have any idea on time frame of events?  We talked to the 2go location we chose before we set it up and he said to expect 5 days.

Thanks  :)

What does it say at the embassy, does it say issued or administrative processing? If are looking at the 2go dashboard then no it won't fill in until they actually scan the document and receive it.

There is no definitive timeline for visa issuance or travel times or end user receipt times.  Normal is usually 2 weeks but we have seen one day and we have seen clear out and sometimes beyond 6 months. As with any of this process you have to have patience. I'll add some additional tracking information in the event you do not have this already. About 3/4 of the way down you will see the information for tracking. You can thank Hank for the information.

Yes that is normal.  It will all be visible again, so don't worry on that.   The embassy gives a 24 hr. window after the interview to update the delivery information, after that time frame you find ...   what you are seeing now.

The tracking at 2GO is only after the package has been logged into their system.

Hello Hank, as a follow up, i wanted to let you know what was happening.

I figured out, finally, how to get the CEAC site to work!!!!  Of course it was with the help of my very lovely and persistent fiance who kept insisting she is a immigrant and why dont i put immigrant in the first box???? :P

I have tried explaining to her that she is not considered an immigrant until after she gets to USA and receives green card and right now is considered in non-immigrant VISA status.

Soooooooooo after all my preaching to her it turns out that the screwed up wheels of the CEAC system have it so that she has to enter herself as a immigrant in order to proceed with entering her MNL#

Ironically, then when the window displays your status it says NON IMMIGRANT VISA ............. whatever???????????

Visa was issued yesterday. that makes it 3 days. Seems to be the norm for the manila area right now, 3-5 days.

By the way, our dashboard is still blank. dont know whats up with that?

Ah .. you were having issue with  CEAC.

K-1 is a non-immigrant visa that is true, BUT it is processed at USEM as an immigrant visa because the K-1 has immigration intent.    I thought I had that noted somewhere  ...  I best get that little point clarified on the website.

Anyway ... congrats on the visa being issued!

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 even though it truly is a non immigrant visa requiring I-134. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant. It stays that way until after approval and ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non immigrant visa with immigrant intent. So there is the long and short of it.

Within NVC the K-1 is processed as its own critter, you call a special number to get your MNL#.   At USEM is where the K-1 is processed as an immigrant visa for the most part, with only a few small exceptions.

"K-1 visa:  1-603-334-0888 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) . "
