Green card for battered spouse

Hi.Everybody! Nice to be here this year once again.Now there is some changes on my family.In September last year me and my wife had an incident,she fought to me and threw a vase on my face and cut it, i was bleeding the cops on my face,she called 911 and they came they were locked up her in jail.I made sure she bailed out and gave the Mother my car to pay that money.After she is out in October,we never seen the judge put on her a restraining order because it was serious aggravated battery.Now I don't know what to do,I went to the court to know how is the case,the secretary of the Attorney,a very nice Lady said to me  it will take a while.Now they ready to schedule my interview for the case,if the USCIS request both of us ,what should I do? I already told them i change address but never explain them over the phone what happened to me,only one time by email but they encouraged me to file for VAWA .Honestly I started filling the papers,but stop .Some friends press me to divorce her but I don't feel like too we just got married at the beginning of last year,the mother said she criying everyday and want to see me.And i heard to file for VAWA i need to pay another big fee like I did for my adjustment of status.So do you have any advice for me? Thank you! Aprreciate it.

Hello, I'm so sorry that happened to you. And I hope you're doing better now.

 

If you don't want to go the  VAWA route, then I think you should seek legal advice from a lawyer-- because as you said she's under a restraining order, which,  I imagine makes things a lot more complicated.
