Hi Guys,

I applied for my parents on 30 march,2018. Center : Potomac

I got I 130 approval notice for my mother on October 02,2018 but no update for my father's I 130 application.

Any suggestion ?

How long did it take for u to get ur father’s approval? I’m in the same situation. Filed for both parents but only received approval for my dad and nothing for my mum yet.

I got approval of my Father after 15 days of my mother's case approval.

IF you submit I130 application for both at a same time and it reached to same USCIS center, then it shouldn't be take more than 20 days between 2 application approval.

Hi All,

My parents I130 applications are approved and NVC case status also shows completed.

My father's case was completed on January 23,2019 and my mother's case was completed on February 07,2019.

My parents are in India and they will give an interview at Bombay (Mumbai) embassy.

My questions are :  1) Since both the cases were completed on different dates, Mumbai embassy will scheduled interview separately for both or Embassy will scheduled interview for both at a same time ?

                                   2) How much time it will take to give us an email notification about an interview date and time ?

                                   3) When we can expect the date of interview after case completion ?

Thanks in advance.

I filed my petition for both parents in February and request for correction came back. I am concerned that i only have a month to fix the issue, and do not know how. They sent it back saying that both applications has the same name but that is not the case. In my country the women takes the first and last name of the husband and attaches -ne after the name. Everything about the two applications are different. Maiden name, birth date....their marriage certificate was attached with translations that reflects the name change from maiden name to the new name. Not sure what to do next....

I wanted to give an update on this as this may be helpful for others with the same situation.  I received the approval for both of my parents' i-130 yesterday 2/11/19 - submitted 2/27/18). I submitted the following items as a follow up information:

 - photo copy of identification card of both parents clearly showing + translation

 - photo copy of residence card of both parents clearly showing official names  + translation

 - photo copy of passport (expired) - of both parents clearly showing official names  + translation

 - letter from the Hungarian embassy explaining the naming convention after marriage based on Hungarian Civil law

 - cover letter from me summarizing the issue and explaining the package i submitted.

Before I sent the package I also scheduled a meeting at the local USCIS office and discussed the issue with the officer. She also sent an email to the processing USCIS service center notifying them of the conversation we had.

Thank you for the suggestions on this forum, it definitely helped getting me on track with the information i had to collect. On to the next step!

Hello everyone! I am getting ready to file the petition for my parents. I am currently working on gathering all supportive documents and wanted to double check with you guys to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Just to make sure, all I need besides the I-130 forms is my birth certificate (translated into English), proof of citizenship, parents’ marriage certificate (also translated into English), front page copy of parents passport, and pay the correct fee?

Am I missing something? As far as I understand from what I’ve read that’s all USCIS needs but if there’s something else you guys know about could someone PLEASE let me know!

Thank you so much!!!! 😊

HI All,

I have couple of questions regrading POE and Green Card process after completion of Immigration Visa interview for IR5 category. My parents interview date is April 26 ,2019. Consulate : Mumbai, India. My Parents never travelled on any international Flights till today.  I am living in Pennsylvania.

Questions Are:

1) Are they allowed to enter on any US airports ? For Example, we have a plan to visit our relatives in Chicago when they arrive in US first time and I (petitioner) live in Pennsylvania. So CBP office will allow my parents to enter in US through Chicago airport or not?

2) When I can apply for Green Card or Pay Green Card fees after completion of Visa interview? Should I wait until my parents enter in US on Immigrant visa or I can pay Green Card application fees immediately after they finish their interview at Mumbai Embassy ?

Hi All,

I have to pay the Immigrant Visa for my Mother's petition. She got Visa on April 26,2019 but when I go on USCIS immigration Visa page on the website, it shows following error message everytime " We couldn't find the A-Number ad/or DOS case ID you entered."

The reason is My Mother's Case ID is starting with Alphabets BMB then 12 digits number , but when I entered that on USCIS Immigration Visa page, it allows me to enter only 11 Digits after alphabets BMB. Does some one know the resolution of this issue ?

quick update on my end...

my mom had to do a sputum test so we had to wait 2 extra months.  the medical center just released her results and she's good for an interview.

But now she has missed her May 2019 interview date because of the sputum test.

They don't automatically reschedule you for an appointment. They don't notify you either to schedule an appointment.

So she had to call the embassy everyday to get an appointment.  Each day she would call they would say no available slots for IR5.

After a week of religiously calling throughout the day she finally got a September 2019 interview - which is getting really close to the expiration date of the Medical Exam results.

We were so worried when we weren't getting any interview dates because her medical exam results will expire in October. That may seem far from now -- but it's really not.

She need those medical exam results to enter the US, so I was so worried that we won't have enough time to get her a flight to come here.

Now, we just have to worry about her interview.  I hope she passes the interview.  She's a widow and I hope for her to live with me.

So who here have already have their family arrive in the US?  and who here are still waiting?

IR-5 Petition Parent (this is going to be a long journey)

02.12.2018 - I130 form sent (via USPS)

02.21.2018 - I130 form delivered (via USPS) mail shipment delayed delivery

02.23.2018 - NOA1 Date

02.24.2018 - Text Notification received

03.05.2018 - NOA1 Received

10.05.2018 - NOA2 Received (NOA date 10.02.2018) -- Petition approved.  Petition sent to NVC in Portsmouth, NH

Thats why its always better to do AOS in USA.
