Well, I asked about a co sponsor and was told it is a joint sponsor so there must be a difference. I was wondering what the difference was myself when someone pointed that out to me.

Not quite, unless one wants to create even more confusion.

There is a Joint Sponsor and there is a Household Member. Either one could be considered to be a 'co-sponsor'. Which is why it really is a good idea for people to use correct terminology rather than create their own terms.
