Got an update on the USCIS webpage that our AOS interview was descheduled. Hmmm, they never notified us that it had been scheduled.

On the USCIS website they are currently processing August of 2005 yet in response to a service request they indicate that they are processing April 2006?

Guess it's time for an infopass appointment and a trip to Metairie.

I am sure that by the time I hit 'reply' there will already be people who have posted a response, lol, but ... this has happened to others before and I think your gut reaction to schedule an Infopass appt. is a good one.

Regardless, people will tell you to show up for the appt. date regardless of what Infopass tells you. There have been people who have had their cases considered abandoned for not showing up, even though they got the 'descheduled' email. Others have gone anyway and found that they were granted an interview anyway.

Good luck!

u guys are missing the part where they only receive a descheduling email and never the notice asking them to appear....

The urge to tell people to show up to their interview despite the descheduling email has obviously become instinctual now on VJ. ;)

This happens often, dont trust the email, go to the interview as if you did not receive the email. Many accept the email as true, and the later find themselves dealing with a deportation proceeding for not showing up for the interview.

Yes, it was instinctual on my part. I made an assumption (I know, I know) that the descheduling email would also have given the supposed set interview date. Sorry if I gave bad advice.

I dont care if you think it is wrong to advise people to go along on the date given in the email.... if it was me I would be turning up just incase I got the interview and to not run the risk of getting a denial a few weeks later....

So pardon me if you think I am wrong but I will continue to give this advise.... if the OP chooses not to take it then that is their choice.... but they will be making that choice after reading what could happen and what has happened in the past....

kezzie - the problem is that he never received the NOA to go to an interview. you can't go unless you make an infopass appt, email descheduling or not. (also there probably isnt a date on the email as to when to go - mine has no date listed)

Yup, I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Turns out all it was was them getting ready to transfer me to CSC. Mine just said interview descheduled, never received any email informing me of an interview date beforehand.

Scheduled an infopass appointment and the Immigration Officer told me what was going on.

I reckon, if you leave it a couple of days you may find it has changed to a transfer notice and you won't need to worry about any of this.

Kez,

Turn up when? Tiberonsuave clearly wrote, " they never notified us that it had been scheduled." And he also clearly wrote that he thought he should make an InfoPass appointment to find out what was going on.

They should still go and check it out..... dont just ingnore it...

OH what the hell...

Why am I here????

Most people here are telling them to schedule an Infopass, that's not ignoring it. But they can't turn up for an appointment that doesn't exist...
