We applied for I-130 since 7 feb 2017.

with my receipt number I daily check the USCIS case status online and it’s only written “ case was received” no approval, It’s been 12 months and 2 days already ! We sent an inquiry in November first 2017 they replied (18 days later)  :

“We researched your case and found that your case is currently in line for processing. We process cases in the order in which they are received and will assign your case to an officer for review as soon as possible. We regret that we cannot provide a definitive timeframe on the processing of your application, but assure you that we are committed to the timely processing of all applications. We hope this information is helpful to you.”

And till date no updates from uscis, anyone can advice us how to process?

We are painly waiting,my husband (American citizen) travel every two weeks from nyc to Montreal to spend 2 days with me ! While I’m Canadian but denied to enter the USA as I have a pending application.

Why can't you visit? It's not against the rules to visit with a pending petition. I visited whilst ours was pending with no problems at all.

My I-130 was filed on 12/8/16 and it was approved  1/4/18.   All you can really do is wait it out and I hate saying that as I hated it when people said it to me.   I know some people who contacted their congress for help.

Thanks for ur reply, appreciated .

We applied in New York City

Kindly, can u explain  more what u mean by call tier 2 through uscis ? Is it the inquiry ? Because yesterday my husband called uscis and they set a new inquiry with the help of an officer.

And they said try to make an infopass appointment but it’s like impossible to get an appointment nearby nyc so he’s thinking to go to Albany again where he went 2 months ago and they said u have to wait until one year passes  then comeback and ask about ur case.

@JFH I can’t visit because when I first filed I was IN the states and applied to get ajustmemt of status and I-130 then 3 months later after my biometric appointment i left NY  for family purposes to Montreal, and on my way back they denied my entry because I don’t have an advanced parol and even with the canadian passport I can’t, there is no guarantee that I won’t apply again for adjustment of status. So since April 2017 I’m in Montreal and my husband in New York City.

So you abandoned your adjustment of status. You didn't mention that in your first post. They rightly denied your entry without AP but you could have been admitted as a visitor. You obviously could not demonstrate to their satisfaction that you have maintained your ties to Canada.

If your case is in line for processing then it will be soon to be approved Or a RFE will be sent out to you which we all pray not to receive that..

Hang in there as your Day is coming...
