Hello, 

My husband just had his immigration interview yesterday. He said the interview went well, the counselor kept his passport and told him to return next Thursday to pick up his documents.  When I just checked the status on the state departments website  it says "Administrative Processing". My husband did not receive a ticket saying anything was missing. Is it normal for the status to change to AP before being approved? I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this before. I am hoping it is normal so I can allow myself to get excited about my husband and I finally getting to live in the same country!!!

AP status after interview is normal. The fact they kept your husband's passport is a very good sign. You should definitely have hope going forward. Congratulations getting this far.

Everyone goes through AP of some type. Some last 1-2 days... some 1-2 weeks, some 3-4 months, others even sometimes a year or more. At this point just sit back and have to wait it out.

Thank you both for replying  . I am just so nervous because we have been living apart for for 5 years and finally we are so close, it just seems too good to be true!
