The beneficiary's country DOES come into play at this point - mainly because DHS does database checks on both the USC and the non USC (check Huskerkiev's posts for info on that). So I'm sure that its more likely to get a name 'hit' in a search if you're from a country like Iran or Pakistan (as opposed to Canada or the UK) - thus it takes longer for them to research and resolve the 'hit'.

I found that odd about the Cuba filers, too. The only thing I thought is maybe their consular portion takes a looong time so they try to get those through first?

Not sure if that is so much the case, because the VJ 'record holder on receiving NOA2 (rebex05, I believe) already has their interview scheduled....or maybe they already passed the interview. I remember seeing a recent post inquiring about best way to pay for plane tickets, citing the difficulty in wiring $$ to Cuba. The only other theory is that Cuba's govt. being what it is (and the US's political stance being the opposite)....perhaps we're only to happy to approve anyone wanting to get out from there legally? Dunno...just a thought.

Well, that answers that then! I just couldn't remember seeing any of the Cuba filers talk about getting an interview date (though granted, I didn't really search for it either). So much for my silly theory!

I just kept an eye on that case, b/c I couldn't believe the approval came through so quickly (February filer, NSC i believe w/ a NOA2 in 5 days?!?) No need to tell you I was just a tad green w/ envy....happy for the couple, but green nonetheless.

But the more I try to pin-point some semblance of logic w/ USCIS the more I realize NONE exists. There is no rhyme or reason to the process. For 99.9% of us the only constant is the excruciating wait! :(

I do remember this filer.. You think twas expidite? He kept saying on his post before that their NOA2 was issued real early MAYBE out of mistake?
