Just wear whatever you have that is clean and presentable. Jeans should be fine as they are considered nice attire locally, but granted for US officials you will look more dressed up wearing trousers (khakis, slacks, etc).

My two cents say to wear clean, professionally acceptable clothing. How he answers or your files will impress them more than his clothing. However, if attracting attention to himself is a concer, then he must do what he has to do.

I would not focus on attire too much. More importantly make sure you have all your documents and evidence. I would suggest you wear your native wear.

When I was in high school I took a class before I graduated on the Interview process. Not neccessarily immigration interviews but interviews in general which tend to be somewhat the same. You go in and sit down and are asked some questions about whatever your there for then they turn around and ask you do you have any questions. Well the first thing I learned in this class was that your first impression leaves a lasting impression on the interviewer of a responsible individual who cares about themselves. You will have this chance to go in and charm the person who will interview you. And if you want to create a lasting impression of a business minded person then the best way to do this is to combine what all of you are saying on this thread. Go in looking professional with all the information that you can about your relationship. If we put our heads together in this one place we are truly going to make a big difference in how this interview process is being done and we will make a great team and many of our sisters and brothers are going to walk into their prospective Embassy's and come out with their visas in hand. I also want to say this too when I first joined Visa Journey I knew it was a very good place to get information. I was hanging out in the K-1 area and I started noticing something. For some odd reason it seems that people trying to get a visa for someone in Africa was having so many problems or the system was taking an awefully longer period of time than the other VJers. And I began to notice that the interviews were a long way off for the ones who were trying to get a visa for an African citizen. When I noticed this I decided that it is very important for our paperwork to be very much in order and we are going to have to go in these Embassy's and shine. And in order to shine we have got to look good, sound good, and know the information that is in the binders or file that we as Petitioners send to the Beneficiaries. We are going to have to start helping each other with web sites and information that is going to make all of our petitions be approved the first time around. It is so very easy to say yes go in that interviewers office looking, smelling, and sounding good. I can tell you this if two people went for an interview in the U.S. on the same day for a job and person 1 came in looking good, smelling good, and knew all the right answers then person 2 came in not dressed well, smelling pretty good, and knew some of the right answers person one would get the job.
