why not take money that we spend on Daca and put it toward the VA

Oh sure, if it weren't for DACA, the VA would be so much better funded. Makes perfect sense:no:

it's not our place to judge such a thing. posts at vj mean nothing.

if ice is picking up a person at their asylum interview (and they don't get the results at the interview) ice can override uscis and circumventing the asylum process - which they can do because an asylum interview takes over a year to get and many visa have expired by that point - putting the asylum seeker out of status 'illegal'.

I've reading more and more news ICE arresting illegals at USCIS FOs on their way to interviews. I really never looked into the I-601A waiver process, how they work, timelines, etc but most of these illegals work with immigration attorneys, whom I'd think wouldn't throw their clients to ICE knowingly.

Our Lawrence, MA FO comes on to news frequently. Here is a recent arrest http://www.bostonherald.com/news/local_coverage/2018/01/ice_arresting_spouses_seeking_legal_residency

Sammich was talking about Asylum seekers and I don't see where he actually applied for asylum at all. He did get married to his USC wife and they filed for AOS. He entered EWI anyway so he would have to apply for a waiver, leave, and then process through his consulate in Brazil.

Rubin said his client — who is a painter — has a nearly spotless record that only includes a driving without a license infraction

But did he file a waiver or not? It looks like they did not file a waiver at all.

As someone who spent many 1000's and visited the Philippines 2 times to do it the right way, I find this offensive.

During Obama’s tenure, immigration authorities streamlined the green card process by allowing certain illegal immigrants to apply in the United States before going back to their native countries to obtain required paperwork. The change was meant to keep families together in the U.S. and to expedite a process that in the past could take more than several years, experts said.

“I can’t even talk to him on the phone. I feel so bad. ... I cry every night thinking about him.”

So he can't talk to them on the phone but he can talk to a news paper on the phone???????????????????????????????????????

I honestly do not know about the waivers. Mr Google says if I-601A is approved, the illegal goes back to his/her country, gets interview quickly.  What I don't understand is why did these folks go to USCIS FO if the interview was going to happen at a consulate.

Has Trump reversed this EO?

They probably tried to do what they thought was easiest way for them to do this without having to go back to Brazil. If you stay here on VJ enough you see a lot of cases like this where people are trying to find some easy fix or loophole where they don't have to go through the process in their home country at all. Even for a short amount time some people don't want to go back in order to get legalized which is sad.

do you think that your situation is the same as everyone else? not everyone comes here to get married/is married. why would you let something you have no details on offend you?

Because those people that do it illegally or want to jump the line pisses a lot of people of immigrants and USC alike. Why should they have to jump the line while other people have to wait sometimes years in order to come here legally to marry or just be with their spouse?

Oh that's right people like you on the Left care more and cater to Illegals. All the while leaving actual USC's, Legal Immigrants, and Dreamers on the sidelines.
