Hi everyone,

I am hoping to get some help on this topic, as I haven't been able to find exactly what I am asking from previous posts. The K-1 visa validity states that "With your visa, you can apply for a single admission at a U.S. port-of-entry within the validity of the visa, which will be a maximum of 6 months from the date of issuance." My question is once I have gone through the entire process and am issued my K-1 visa, am I allowed to travel outside of the US during the 6 month period of validity, before using my K-1 to enter the US? For example, can I travel from my home country, Canada to Europe for a trip that was pre-planned and booked? With this affect the validity of my K-1 visa when I do enter the US after a round trip from my home country to another country?

Hope my question was clear, but would appreciate any advice or guidance on this. Also, would love to hear from anyone that has already done something similar and hear about their experience.

Thanks!

Yes. There's no restrictions on where you go before you come to America.

yeah it won't be a problem, as long as you are not entering the United States. The visa only valid for 6 months, so you need to enter USA before it expired. Hope it clear.

You can have dozens of visas in your passport and travel anywhere.  You just need to have a valid one when you present yourself at the border

Yes. The USA has no say in your entrance or admittance to any other country.

That said, if you travel to a place that the USA does not "like" (some places in the Middle East, for example) you may get extra questions at US POE.

Just be very careful to book any flights so that you don't have to transit through the USA because unless they allow you to transit on ESTA, they may count that as your K-1 entry.
