Huh? I just got an email saying my case was transferred to California for processing. Problem is, its been in Cali for almost 2 months now! Anyone know what the story is? My I-130 hsn't ben touched since early February.

I also received an email on April 30. Is this what your email said?

"Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that was transferred to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there."

On March 11 I received this email:

"Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing.

On March 8, 2007, we transferred this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action."

Does this indicate that it took them approximately 7 weeks to get it in California? Did this transfer delay me by 7 weeks?

My application "is now pending there?" I thought it was "pending" the day I sent it. What the heck does "pending" mean? Am I any closer?

These 2 emails are the only 2 "touches" that I have received. Everyone is always talking about touches. I registered in uscis.gov and have received nothing other than these 2 emails.

And while I'm ranting...how do some member's with the same NOA1 dates as mine receive their NOA2 in 2 months from CSC? I thought it was first come, first served.

My case is the same. On April 2, I received an email saying that my case has been sent to CSC for processing. Then on April 23, I received an email again saying that my case is pending in CSC.

In my understanding (correct me if I am wrong)...the April 2 emails says that they are still preparing the shipment of the hardcopy of the case to CSC, while the April 23 emails says that CSC has already received it and pending for processing.

I also received an email on April 30. Is this what your email said?

I think their issue is that they got the emails in reverse. Like you, I first got one saying it was sent to csc, then another from csc saying it is now pending there, they yet apparantly got another after that saying it is being sent again to csc. It sounds messed up, I'd call for sure.

You don't usually receive an email every time the "last updated date" column change. Only major transactions will be reported (to you) through an email. Most of the VJ'ers who have many "touched" in their signature are most likely those who are vigilant in checking their USCIS account at least twice a day (like me).

Sure it is. Not that it means it will be followed by an approval but at least they touched your petition.

And another one today! Wish me luck!!! I would presume that they only really need to get so far as looking at the baby pictures in the application, though. Hopefully they won't sit on it for another 2 weeks. Or even 2 days!

This is a pure guess:

By looking at the time lines and updates (touches) made to many of the petitions it seems like there are batch jobs running at USCIS. If the touches are not major they are added to a batch process which runs at certain times on certain days. Hence, the touches and updates on the weekends. However, if it is important then an immediate update is provided.

I received 3 emails from CRIS about my case pending at CSC on Mar 30th. 1 at 8:33 am 2nd and 3rd at 8:34 a.m.

so i wonder if your cases were somehow added to the batch update resulting from error in query statements used to get data from the databases.
