Hello all,

My fiancé is from Delhi and took a PCC from the Delhi police instead of regional passport office. We corrected this mistake and submitted the proper document on Monday to the drop location in Delhi to go to Mumbai. Mumbai consulate received it on tuesday and now since then we’re stuck on AP. Does anyone have any idea how long after document submission it takes to issue the visa?

Sorry I know specific consulate related question but any help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello!!!

We received 221g this morning and believe it is for the same reason of local PCC vs. regional passport. Did they tell you immediately what the need was to correct or did you have to wait for a call? What happened in your case and what was the final outcome, time between appt and approval, etc?

Hello!

you should not wait for any phone calls. Go to your regional passport office and get the required pcc and go submit it ASAP to your local visa center (where you had fingerprints done). They will give you a receipt and then online you status change to AP and then to “received” again and then to issued. Thankfully for us this entire process took only a week. We had a first interview on 2/2. Submitted correct pcc 2/5. Visa in hand 2/14.

I've just returned home from India. We went to get PCC on April 17th but they refused without original passport (even with copies and prior passport in hand and showing all embassy ppwk). We now have no way to get PCC without passport. I met with my local congressman office today and complete release form, copy or all ppwk and his passports, AP letter and a two page detail of our experience. They will send a formal inquiry to consulate and monitor all communication and support from here. Prasad is still awaiting a response to his email inquiry as well from the service center. Our four combined calls and my direct email had scripted responses so we're hopeful that he'll get a detailed response soon.

Any suggestions on how to get the original passport to complete PCC other than above?

We sat in AP for 8mths and now I'm India last 45-daya for our marriage on Saturday. The consulate returned us to NVC last month. We will have to start over again in with CR1 Spousal Visa. I hope that your situation resolves since you were still able to get PCC and drop at the box. We couldn't because they held his passport (now returned)!!
