Hi everyone! After a very loooooong wait since our November approval, my fiance just got the call from the embassy in Seoul to schedule an interview! We're excited but a little stressed because our deadline is mid-March and we need to rush to prepare everything.

My story: On our I-129f, I listed my employer at the time, but since then I've quit that job to pursue a master's degree. I am currently working under a work-study program through the school and federal government. My income tax returns for last year is above the 125% poverty benchmark. My mom is willing to co-sponsor me, if needed.

My questions are regarding the I-134 that I have to send over to him, and they're a lot and very specific as I want to get this right (since we're in the final stretch!):

  • Do I need a co-sponsor if my tax returns show that my income from last year was above the required amount?
  • In the "annual income" amount, do I put last year's, this year's, or the average?
  • Is South Korea generally okay with co-sponsors?
  • Would I need to fill out two separate forms -- one for me, and one for my mom?
  • Are the letters from the employer necessary? (It's a bit strange to ask since I'm only a work-study employee.)
  • Since I'm on work study, should I list my employer at all? Or should I just say I'm a current student who's unemployed?
  • Do I need to write a letter explaining why I had an employer on the I-129F but not now?

Sorry I know it's a lot, but I appreciate the help! Thank you so much!

Wow, my fiancee is from Korea too, and you're saying that from NOA2 to SCHEDULE the interview took 3 months??? what took so long?

Not quite 3 months. More like 2.5, but I still have no idea why it took so long! My guess is that the holiday season threw them off schedule.
