hello ,everyone i would like to ask if someone was approved under VAWA and pass the medical exam ,biometric and fingerprints and is still waiting 4 years after to receive his I -485 card for adjustment of states (green card.)My case was approved in December 2, 2014 but ever since I'm only on work permit and i haven't heard from USCIS when I'm gonna actually receive it. I drove to Laredo  service center which is 5 hours from  Houston ,but they were not able to give any more comprehensive information .I was told that FBI is having the file and i can't do much but wait at this point .But how much longer .I'm 8 years here and i have been paying my taxes on time and do everything by book .Is it getting to the point i need to seek help from a lawyer cause i feel forgotten .(if there is any please send me contact information) .Other than this ,thanks for the time to read all of my problems .thanks

There is no timeline by which they MUST approve a case but yours is unusually long.  So the only thing USCIS ever tells you is that the case is with the FBI for background checks? Is there anything unusual in your case such as a criminal background?
