The initial question was regarding submission of the petition.  NO requirement to meet the family for the petition.  They have 9+ months to work on the ongoing relationship.

the question was is it going to be a problem if she has not visited with family

and we can not answer as we do not know what African country she is from and where she will interview

we do not know if the family would disapprove because of religious  differences

there is so little known about this situation

It is true, for the I-129f petition, only have to meet eachother, nothing to do with the family.

And as mentioned, come interview time it really is embassy specific do to culture of the country.

A lot of countries don't care honestly; but in a lot of the African countries it is an extemely big deal I have seeen.

As also said, while you are doing potentially the interview stage(when it comes) in S.K., they will still know your origin.

Also was stated you need police reports (at the interview stage) from both countries.

Old school African?

What country

as said above makes a difference

My husband was asked when we tried K1 visa

i had spent a month with them

He said "they love her" and smiled

she said "you smile you lie"

i know we are use to marrying whoever we want in the US but not so in many countries

the parents approval is important

and in my RFE for CR1 i had to provide proof i had told my "mommy"  i was going to marry (at my age seemed real stupid as i am well over 40)

So you are saying that even though your husband now told them that his family loved you.. Still they denied him? And you guys had to go through cr1?

In my K1 interview they asked if we had met each others families and when.  But again every interview can look different depending on the country/interviewer.

I like the idea of scheduling a Skype meeting so your fiancé has the opportunity to at least meet that way.

Yes a police report will be needed.  Sounds like you will need at least two.  One from your home country and one from the country you're in now.   They will give you a checklist of all the things needed at the interview. :)

Good luck!

Our interview the CO asked 3 simple questions.

Then he said I guess I should ask you if you have any questions for me, which we all laughed and he said your approved
