Ok... Me and my fiancée is about to submit our forms and all, been able to gather everything required and visited.. But my question is, i live in another country not my country of origin so when my fiancee visited we couldn't see my family and all but we sure took lots of pics... So i have been wondering, is that going to cause any problems?not been able to prove that we visited my family? Thanks.

It is somewhat embassy specific and CO's at some high fraud consulates like to see the fiance interact with the family, more so if a
wedding takes place for a spousal visa. Many have been asked where was your family or have you met the family.
Just be ready to explain it.
You can also have screen shots from skype talking with each others families.
It will be ok for USCIS but at the embassy stage it might be scrutinized for a closer look.
If you (beneficiary ) is in a third country and want to interview there make sure you have a legal permit to be there.
You can also interview in your home country.
The petitioner should front load the petition with lots of relationship evidence and some affidavit letters from family.

Be aware you will need criminal investigatio reports from both your country and country you now live in

let the VJ community know what countries we are talking about here as this question can be specific to certain embassies

many require appoval of the family especially the mother and that question can and will be asked

Yes i live in a third country and i have a legal permit to be here.. So i intend doing it here.. I just was wondering if not having some prove that she interacted with my family is going to be some sort or red flag, but we have lots of prove though of me interacting with her family, siblings and parents...but the one reason though why we haven't been able to video with my parents is because they are really this Really old school African's 😊.. You know what i mean i guess coz your name looks African...so what do you think from my above statement?

King, you are from a high fraud country, Nigeria.

They really like to see the fiance meeting your family and interaction on photos.
If I were you I would interview in Lagos and have her visit again before the interview and be on the premises for the interview (she won't be allowed in).
I just have seen way too many situation like yours that were denied.
You know the big cultural deal yourself with introductions to family.
Even though you interview in another country your nationality will still be scrutinized.
Ask around and see how many other couples were approved in S. K. embassy.
I am not familiar with S.K patterns but I do know about Lagos which isn't easy either.
Make 100% sure you are legal there in S.K and not on expired permit or they will deny you.

Yes, been there done that. We were denied in a third country.
I would drag the parents and siblings if any to an internet cafe and do a few skype calls.
Otherwise they tend to think they will not approve or don't know about her and for Lagos it is a red flag.
The embassy will go by your nationality and your home country's customs, not those of S.K., even if you are a traveler or city slicker.
The old customs is what they gauge you by.

I love this answer, quick and to the point.

may be true in the rules

but family is as she says "old school African"

African embassies are known to ask "Does your family approve of the marriage?"'

I know Egypt, Algeria, Ghana and Morocco ask this

and if religious differences also big issue

along with age difference

plus what embassy will she interview at

and she does need to get that criminal investigation from the African country she was born in

The initial question was regarding submission of the petition.  NO requirement to meet the family for the petition.  They have 9+ months to work on the ongoing relationship.

YMMV

Old school African?

What country

as said above makes a difference

My husband was asked when we tried K1 visa

i had spent a month with them

He said "they love her" and smiled

she said "you smile you lie"

i know we are use to marrying whoever we want in the US but not so in many countries

the parents approval is important

and in my RFE for CR1 i had to provide proof i had told my "mommy"  i was going to marry (at my age seemed real stupid as i am well over 40)
