Guys I just got an update on my case but on the old case status website not he new. It says my case was transferred to a different office. It is so frustrating to have to wait for so long for something that should have taken less than 6 months only to hear it’s been sent to a different office. By the looks of it, it seems as though they are going to ask me for biometrics again or am I wrong?? Did anyone else get the same update?

Application Type: I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On February 4, 2019, your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, Receipt Number WAC*******, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by March 6, 2019, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

I received the exact same update @Alex08. An email came in at 1:50 am CST today notifying of local office transfer, followed by the case tracker update notification at 7.45am CST. The old website transitioned from showing "at this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case" to the same update as the email "Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction". What is strange is that the new website (which has been reliable up to this point) hasn't updated yet and still shows the last update over a year ago acknowledging receipt. This goes to prove that everyone should continue tracking both websites for possible updates.

In regards to what this means; I need to research more but recall reading others have had such notice and it seems quite common. I would assume that it is an interview or biometrics appointment, but how long it will take to receive that I do not know. Honestly, I don't suspect anything untoward, we're probably part of the quota that needs to go through this route, but obviously, I'd have much rather had a straightforward 'approval and card being produced' type notice. That said, I still consider myself grateful to get some sort of update, as there are many others, including what appears to be the entire pool of Vermont filers who haven't heard a peep from USCIS.

For clarity, I have not yet applied for N-400.

What do you mean by quota? Is that home country specific or the residence in United States?

And yes, I guess some sort of update is better than nothing but I’m worried hat they just set the clock back all the way to when I sent in the application.

For clarity, I have not yet applied for N-400.

A friend of mine who filed her i751 in 2017 had the same experience of having her case transferred to to another office. At the time her GC arrived about 2 months later.

I am still frustrated that I can't enter my case in the old site, it says it's not recognized but the new site shows the last update of march 5th 2018 when my case was received.

USCIS likes to keep us guessing. 😕

She had one interview when filed for the conditional GC but she did not have a second one while waiting for the i751

My case is also transferred as of yesterday. It showed on the old website and on app tracker on my phone.

starsky - I have been following this thread too, but I am a March 2018, filer.  My two cents on this is that I believe it is a fingerprint requirement.  USCIS prefers to reuse your biometrics of less than 36 months (3 years) old only (I was told this information by the local office when I went in to get a passport stamp, and of course I don't know if the information is 100% reliable).  Since many CSC filers during early 2018 were waived biometrics, some of you may have had biometrics taken during I-485 that was older than 36 months.  So to me this makes logical sense that you may be asked to just go get the biometrics done again.

The part that puzzling me is, they don't have to transfer your case though just to schedule an ASC appointment.  So that part I don't have any valid explanation at this point.

Quota as in; most of us assume that this is a numbers game and a bit of a lottery where you end up and how your case is processed. I mean the method in terms of; which office, whether you get an interview, whether you don't. We know there is a quota of folks they stop at random at airports for additional screening. I am sure that is the case with USCIS, too. I don't assume anything sinister but nor do I worry about additional scrutiny.

Try the case tracker app, but also as you can read, the old site had no updates for me, either. Until today.

Reading a few threads here and here, a lot of folks talk about combination interviews, but that doesn't apply for me as I don't have N-400 pending. Perhaps it was a mistake not to do that. I am reading that the transfer is usually related to reducing workflow backlog at a particular office and that cases typically get either an update ranging anywhere from 120 days to 6 months of transfer asking for more information, interview schedule or approval. In other words, seems pretty normal and innocuous, although looks favorable for an interview at this point.

Interesting insights, thanks for sharing. You mention biometrics and now from re-reading the email that kinda makes sense. For those curious, here is the email I received before anything else happened. It's more detailed than the notification in the app or online through the old website.

Yikes!.... the USCIS officer handling your case must be having a bad day a work.

Do all of the documents you sent with your ROC petition have BOTH you and your spouse name on it? Same address?

If most of the documents only have your name and address USCIS will consider it inefficient.

For example our case was approve with the following documents with BOTH our names and address on it.

- Bank Statement

- Credit Card Statement

- Auto Insurance

- Vehicle Title and Registration Documents

- State issue DL (Me and my Spouse)

- 4x Photos (Us with family and friends)

We forgot to send our Rent, Utility, and Tax Documents but they didn't ask for it :)

We don't have any bills that show both our names and address on it. So we sent separate bills and we also added cell phone bills that shows I am on the line. This is why they are requesting document proving joint cohabitation. Working on it now.

On 2/3/2019 at 7:18 PM, GBOS said:

I would think a deed to your house, now that your husband will add your name to it, a copy of both DLs (your and your husband’s), and maybe a doctor’s note that you are expecting a  baby with history of maternity consultation along the way should do the trick.

It sounds to me that your adjudicator would like to see things that carry more weight — real properties (house deed, car registration) and child(ren) usually carry more weight, most certainly.

Good Luck

Thanks for the advice GBOS, we are working on that and also listing me on the Homeowner's insurance. But yes, we did not include our driving license so I will make sure to include that when we will return our RFE.

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about the RFE. Sounds like you got a good amount of detail on how to resolve the RFE, though. It may help others advise if you list what you initially sent to USCIS? There will be comparisons with others, but each case seems to be unique and as much as we hope everything is adjudicated fairly and systematically, I do wonder whether that is really true.

Hi Starsky, see the list:

-auto-insurance

- Bank Statement

- health insurance

- letters

-photographs

-travel documents

-tax documents

- beneficiaries on health, accidental death, bankings.

-bills (showing only my name or spouse).

Actually, I think state-issued DLs with the same address is pretty strong evidence of cohabitation. Especially if your state DL meets the REAL ID standard. DLs 1) are official documents, 2) require other documentary evidence of residence to obtain, and 3) are difficult to falsify -- at least more than other types of evidence.

Click the arrow below for some other types of documentation under "Cohabitation".

Thank you for sharing afrocraft. Working on gathering all the information possible to show cohabitation.
