Since CSC is already processing January filers, does anyone know where VSC is standing at the moment? And I mean based on the threads on this forum, I know a bunch of you are following the threads for January 2018 filers, December 2017 and so forth. I could dig into them, but I assume someone might have a good overview of the situation.

My AOS timeline

Based on one post in January 2018 forum, there is one person (filed in January 2018, EAC180715XXXX) recently received an approval with no RFE or interview.  He/She appears to be an odd duck, however.  Every single approval I read and checked in January 2018 forum are all CSC filers.

VSC filers in November 2017 and December 2017 are also all over the place.  No logical sequences.

The processing times for both CSC and VSC have also just been updated yesterday.  They are both now exactly the same -- 15.5 months to 19.5 months.  CSC was shown to be longer (before the update) at 15.5 months to 21.5 months.  CSC did transfer a bunch of files to Nebraska and Texas (likely November 2017 and December 2017 filers), and maybe that is how it "magically" reduced its processing time by 2 months on the top end.  Number manipulations!

Thank you so much! That's really annoying re:VSC, at least the ones who are at CSC can set some sort of expectation but not us. We can still hope that at some point VSC might also forward some applications to other centers... one can dream!

klems10024 - I doubt it, given that now CSC and VSC both have the same processing timeframe (again magically).

If you look at - https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers, you will see that CSC has transferred its workload on I-751 three times in 2018.  Once in March 2018 and twice in July 2018.  One of those batches came to us at VSC (like we are going to so fast, huh?).  The last time some I-751 files were transferred from VSC to CSC was in 2014 (https://www.uscis.gov/archive/archive-news/form-i-751-workload-transfer-vermont-service-center-california-service-center)

It is indeed really annoying.

I have been somewhat monitoring the Receipt date for Case inquiry on USCIS Processing Times page for CSC files since Jan 2nd and the dates changed dramatically in the last week. This is what I have notated:

On JAN 2nd -  RDCI APRIL 12TH 2017
On JAN 3RD - RDCI APRIL 13TH 2017
On JAN 8TH - RDCI APRIL 18TH 2017
On JAN 14th - RDCI APRIL 24TH 2017
On JAN 21ST - RDCI MAY 1ST 2017
On JAN 29TH - RDCI JULY 7TH 2017

Looks like in the past week they advanced by 2 months which means they probably did transfer some files elsewhere. Fingers Crossed! I would certainly love to have received my GC before I go out of the country in April.

Look at the processing time for almost every single Form increases since the current Administration took the office on January 2017.

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-pt

Does it make any sense that the fees keep going up and the processing times also keep going up?  Supposedly, the increased fees are supposed to be used to reduce the backlog through increased staffing and processing technology.  The sharp rise in processing times do not align with the flow of immigrants.

I am convinced that a lot of this is on purpose to try discouraging people (and not just under the current administration, although this one will for sure not make anything better!).

Thanks for sharing this, I do wonder whether this is backdated or if it a new policy effective from Dec 2018 and thereafter. This below reads like we as Feb 2018 filers might not fit the criteria.

Congratulations to you! I would be delighted to add you to our tracking table, I just need all of the data from you to fill it out. See here.

OHHHHH YAYYYYY CONGRATS!!!!! :D

Guys, I have a question about Form I-865 : Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address.

Recently, my husband got a new job and we relocated from the East Coast to Texas.

I originally filed the I-751 with the Vermont Center.

After moving, I filed the form AR-11 Change of Address within 10 days of my move and also called USCIS to confirm that the address was updated.  (I checked USCIS and they require you to file AR-11 AND call USCIS).

NOW, I did some googling and found out that some people suggest you (my husband the sponsor) to also file I-865, if we moved while my I-751 was pending.  I guess my husband is my sponsor forever until I receive the green card?

So here are my questions:

1.  Is this correct to file the form I-865 if I moved while the I-751 was pending? and if so,

2.  Is this necessary to include all these documents to prove that we are still married and living together?

- Cover letter

- My flight ticket itinerary (to prove that I filed AR-11 timely)

- AR-11 confirmation

- Apartment lease contract

- My husband's proof of employment letter

Am I going too overboard with this very simple I-865 form?

Thank you in advance for all your help!!! :) AND wishing you all good luck!  We are almost thereeeeee!!!

Yes, if your husband was your sponsor on the I-864 Affidavit of support during AOS, your husband must file I-865: Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address within 30 days of moving.

No additional documentation is required with I-865. It's a very simple form to file, just follow the instructions for the form. Also, he will get a I-797C receipt notice for the I-865 form after filing, that is the proof that he has complied with his (Sponsor) address change requirement.

No. As per I-864 instructions, his sponsor obligations would continue until the following conditions are met:

How Long Does My Obligation as a Sponsor Continue?
Your obligation to support the immigrants you are sponsoring in this Affidavit of Support will continue until the sponsored
immigrant becomes a U.S. citizen, or can be credited with 40 qualifying quarters of work in the United States.
Although 40 qualifying quarters of work (credits) generally equates to 10 years of work, in certain cases the work of a
spouse or parent adds qualifying quarters. The Social Security Administration can provide information on how to count
qualifying quarters (credits) of work.
The obligation also ends if you or the sponsored immigrant dies or if the sponsored immigrant ceases to be a lawful
permanent resident. Divorce does not end the sponsorship obligation.

I just finished it myself.   Did you have any issues uploading documents?   I've been trying to upload all evening, and even just gave up on the last document.   They would just keep spinning, so I'd close and restart.   I also didn't upload duplicates like the children's birth certificates in the marriage section and separate children's section.
