Hi guys!
Holidays are approaching soon, but I figured I might as well start my online N-400 application since my window opened up on November 4th.
My question is, and maybe this now needs to go to N400 forum, do you have to list a "parking violation".
What happened was I did get a speeding ticket, I was almost 20 mph over, but was cited for 5mph over so CITED FOR SPEEDING in fact,
BUT, I gave my 5mph cited ticket to an attorney and they went to court for me and it got reduced to illegal parking.
So, TECHNICALLY, it's a parking ticket that I have. But I'm  a little scared that if I don't list that I was originally cited for 5mph over speeding they will think I am not being honest 100%.
What do you think? I mean seems like practically everyone will have a speeding ticket at some point. This is literally my only offence in 9 years in the country. Anyway, I think I'm rambling now, thanks for all the suggestions!

Hey guys! Since I signed up for the myuscis account, I got notified by email when my case have any status changes. I got approved!!

Though when I search for my case number as of right now, it will still show 'Case was received on February etc...'. Probably it'll show up later but does anyone have this issue?

First of all congratulations!

I do see however that you filed in September 2017, so sounds about right.

I think on this thread we are most Feb 2018 filers.

Nonetheless, Congratulations!!!

My N400 window is almost open, but am having mix feelings about filling, I have read some many posts, and most people  i751 was  delayed or pushed back because of combo filling n400.

Some went for interview and and was told to wait for their i751 approval, some after 3 to 6 months after the n400 interview has not heard anything from USCIS. They keep waiting.

A few where lucky they got combo interview for both i751 then after n400.

Which when you are called for the k interview you have to take your spouse to, it your i751 is still pending.

some people they where told told they will call them and they are still waiting after six months.

Those that hat didn’t file n400 got approved between 12-16 months. And most that file for n400 waited over 2 years, for both n400 and i751.

Part of me wants to file and be done with the waiting and part of me want to wait for approval first. Just confused 🤷🏻‍♀️

From my State n400 takes like 4 - 8 months. Which is not bad. But ? Confused 😐.

My wife and I actually discussed this last week. Her window opens in Feb 2019 to apply for her N400. Ideally it would make sense to go ahead and file at the first available window. However, I looked at our local servicing center and N400 has a wait of 12 - 16 months as of today. Our concern is that it will extend her ROC wait time if it gets transferred to our local office. She prefers to have her 10 yr GC to give her piece of mind. So we will most likely wait until June or July. I hope by then, her ROC will be completed. Good Luck on your decision.

I am actually an April 2018 filer and we have decided to wait I also see other threads to read experiences and I noticed that they normally wait longer if they combine the process, specially if there is a long wait time for N-400 in your office.

Thanks 🙏🏽 am not alone, my husband said I should wait, so will be waiting for the i751 approval first, before I file for N400.

It better and secured that way.

God bless you all.

Looks like my local office processing time for an N400 is 12-18 months.  I would hate for my wife to have to possibly wait that long after waiting for almost a year already for a combo interview.  Maybe better to just wait until she gets the 10 year card and then file for N400.  I wish there was a way to know for sure if they just tack on another 12-18 months from when they get the N400 or if they streamline your process since you've been waiting a year already.

Is there evidence of people's N400 getting delayed because their ROC was still pending? A few of the threads I've seen when I did a search say there's no issue with applying for citizenship during the ROC process.

Same here. I'd love to see some links to other forums that mention the delays with combining N400 and ROC. Our window to apply opens in a few weeks and based on positive reports I read online, I figured my husband would have his citizenship before his 10 year green card (sometime this summer). Now I'm not so sure after reading the few recent comments in this thread.

I wrote a full detailed account of our AOS process, timeline, AP use, and interview on my blog. You can read it here.

We decided to wait to file my wife's N-400 until after she has her 10 year green card. Our local office is taking 15.5 - 23 months to process them. We're a same-sex couple and it makes me too nervous to have her here on a conditional green card for that long if it ends up that they just tack that time on.

Happy New Year everyone! I wanted to share our travel experience since we just returned from a trip to the UK.

We weren't able to complete the online check-in for my wife with Delta, which didn't happen last time she flew on her green card, so we got to London Heathrow extra early to check in with a live person (I wanted to leave extra time in case the extension letter tripped them up). Checking in was no problem, the Delta employee had clearly seen the extension letter before. They checked our documents again in the queue for the bag drop and again didn't bat an eye, and yet again at the bag drop itself. The woman who tagged our bags even asked, 'Is it the 12 or 18 month?' 😂We had to show everything again at the gate, too, and that was fine.

We flew into Minneapolis and tried to use a kiosk at passport control (knowing full well it wouldn't work but hoping we would at least get the printout with the X. No such luck, we had to quickly fill out a customs form). The CBP officer was super nice. He did my passport first (as the USC), then just looked at my wife's GC and extension letter. He only asked her how long she'd been out of the country and then asked for her passport to stamp it.

Copied from another Forum, I751 pending - N400
to 756e663139:

I talked to one buddy just yesterday, he got his 751 approved after he filed 400, but here is the twist and turn, he made an info pass and found out that his pending case had been transferred to his local field office in New York, so he made another info pass appointment to the office where his pending 751 was, and the officer asked if he and his wife could come back the next day for a joint interview, and he accepted of course, but they went through an hour of "stoke interview" where they were separated for the same interview, they were grilled for an hour and after the interview, they were 751 approved, the officer could not even care less about the RFE they had mailed in, this just happened after he applied for 400, he is a Vermont Service Center filer. So it does happen, but he got the interview at the office by luck and went through an intense session of stoke interview which is rare as far as I know. I guess we will never find out whether they will combine the 2 until we have more evidence or a trend of applicants getting 751 approved after filing 400. I am a last early August CSC filer, if I get approved next month or so, or more August people get approved that way after 400, then that means they won't necessarily combine the two. The processing time for CSC is on last July 5th, if you are a VSC filer, then you will be approved soon if you have been waiting for almost a year, CSC has been unprecedentedly delayed. We shall see, it is frustrating though. They said the interview was crazy. The they should have waited for I751 approval first.
