Sounds like that is not the extension letter but a courtesy letter. Did you read the entire letter?

Okay, the picture I took is too big.

If you have recieved a white letter, not printed on anything fancy it is the courtesy letter. On the top (under your name) it will say "We have mailed an official notice about this case (and any relevant documentation) according to the mailing preference you chose on Form G-28. Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative.  This is a courtesy copy, not an official notice."

Under that, it tells you what the official notice will say. Make sure you really have an extension letter and not courtesy! Especially if you're about to travel.

So my wife locked herself out of her online account to check for any updates (don't ask me how). And the email it sends to have your account unlocked is a dead link. What does she do? Should we create a new account?

Hi! I’ve locked myself out of my account too. I called USCIS and they transferred me to a technician who helped me unlock it. Your wife would need to verify her information and answer the security questions that she chose when creating the account. It took me 10 min tops.

Hope that information helps.

Slight correction, on 6/22 I got my first 18mo extension letter, then another one this week. I'm still waiting on biometrics.

Thanks for the correction, I'll just use your 18mo extension letter from this week for tracking purposes. Amazed you are yet to hear about biometrics. Have you called up their helpline for advice on why?

I've called the helpline. I filed a query. That's how I got the 18m extension letter back in June, they just fobbed me off with that and "it takes as long as it takes." Meanwhile I sit here growing increasingly paranoid they're dragging their heels because what they really want is to undo my marriage. Any other same-sex couples in here that can make me feel better?

I also noticed my egov.uscis.gov account got locked today. Anyone know/suspect if that because they're phasing that site out or if it's something else to give me cold sweats?

I am not in your situation but have seen others on VJ that are and they aren't treated any differently to others, but maybe there are examples where that's not the case. For what it's worth, there are a bunch of you in the middle of the tracking table that seem to be without any biometrics updates, so hopefully, that gives you some comfort. That's a big reason why I find it important to keep the table updated.

As for your access, you might try this new link that's been circulated a few times. Account updates seem to have been ported over there, although do seem to be a little outdated. I hope you and the others get some positive movement soon!

As for your access, you might try this new link that's been circulated a few times. Account updates seem to have been ported over there, although do seem to be a little outdated. I hope you and the others get some positive movement soon!

I have an account there as well, so I'm not too worried the other one has been locked :)

We're not a same-sex marriage, but we're in the same boat with you in regards to biometrics. As starsky noted, we're all kind of within a same time frame for this situation. We've called a couple times, got the "we have no updates at the time", site reflects the same, "it takes as long as it takes", etc., etc. We didn't hear anything until we got the 18 month notice, which I am taking as a good sign.

(speaking from our experience only) We're also a same-sex couple and we haven't had any issues.  Just the same waiting times like everyone else.  At the interviews and biometrics along the way, the USCIS staff have always been professional and treated us with the same respect as everyone else.  Good luck.
