@starsky Thank you!! I am expecting a permanent resident card for ROC. I understand how you feel and I still can’t believe how fast my case was processed considering the long processing time. It is indeed miraculous.

I recieved a mail from CRC about a week ago saying my case has been transferred to National Benefit Center, Lee Summit, after a preliminary review of my application.

No other reasons were stated.

May I ask what type of Visa did you have before? Did you have an interview with your conditional GC? Because the only thing that I see that sets you apart is that they skipped your biometrics and went straight to interview.

Just looking for more clues in this journey :)

Congratulations by the way!!

@starsky Thanks, I think we'll go ahead and file the passport application (technically she has to get a new one since the old one is in her maiden name). I was hoping that anyone who had to actually attend a biometrics could possibly look at their notice and let me know what it tells you to bring exactly? The only thing I can find online is the appointment letter and some form of photo ID.

That's all you need. Photo ID needs to be government issue: driver's license, passport etc. Not student ID obviously.  If she has a driver's license, she's good to go. If not, get her a new passport. They will only check that at the security desk and then they want to see the Green Card for the actual biometrics part.

That's the only thing you need, the green card, the appointment letter, and a valid government issued ID to verify. During those days when we were applying for the greencard, I didn't have a driver's license yet, and my passport was expired as well, I just applied for a State Identification card which you can get at the DMV that way you'll have a government issued ID.

Got an 18mo extension to my green card today, but still no biometrics. Called them and they said there's nothing new to report :/ My inquiry into why I hadn't heard anything since the NOA on 2/20 was closed the day they sent out the extension.

Just got back from Holland on the expired card and the extension letter. I got to talking with the check-inn lady and we decided to see when the process would be accepted by the system.

- Unable to check in online due to this.

- Gave my passport, she entered the data and it failed

- Gave my Green card, she entered the data and it failed again

- Gave my extension letter and that did the trick.

The border check was easy. I gave him the letter but he had already approved me before even looking at it. No trip to secondary either.

@bonzaigirl @Unidentified Thank you so much for the reply!

She doesn't drive, so no driver's license, but we did just recently renew her Wisconsin State ID card, which is good until 2022. So I think we'll just send off for her passport now. Tricky thing is we have to figure out how to actually pay for it. It requires to be in Canadian dollars, so I don't think I can just write a check from my US account, but I think there's a credit card section on the printed out form.

Welcome fellow Texas filer! We're happy to have you here. I've added you to our tracking table, see below. Surprising you haven't received any further information on your case yet, have you tracked it in both USCIS portals? Contacted a tier 2 via phone support?

——————————

Hey! So I checked the USCIS website but all it’s saying is...

“At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS...”

What other portal should I look into? And I guess the next step would be for me to give them a call.

Try this other portal, it should give you more current information: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

I had faith there was a reason. Does make sense now that we know it is a different visa and most of us here are originally from K1 status. Glad we got to the bottom of that.

ahhh that's why yours was different 😁 makes sense now ...  nearly all of us came from the  K1/CR1 visa. We started in the K1 / CR1 forums, and then AOS, and now 2 years later here again, and next year we will be seeing each other for the naturalization process 😁😁 Conratulations on your GC

Oh! Really? That must be the reason then. Thank you very much and wishing everyone the very best.
