It looks USPS lost my mail. Informed delivery says i have a mail from USCIS on 5/12 and still I haven't seen it in my mailbox.... I contacted USPS and they told me to wait 7 days..

The post office once put my USCIS letter into the neighbors mailbox instead of mine.  Our boxes are right next to each other.  If you have a similar situation I'd ask your neighbor and see if they have it by chance.

Hey guys! I filled my I-751 in February shortly after received the letter extending the validity of my green card. Just last week I received a letter saying that my old biometrics will be used! Yay! But whenever I try to check my status online I get this,

At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information.

Anyone else have this issue? I am not sure if I should be worried. I don't think so since I got the letter saying I do not need to do the biometrics, but just wanted to hear other people's opinion! Thanks so much!

Good luck 👍🏽

I got a letter from USCIS that said I didn’t have to do another biometrics? Did anyone else get that? And it specifically said I don’t get my fee back either. I’ve never seen that before.

Yes, I got mine last week too.  and said the same thing .

For those of you who have received the biometrics waiver from USCIS, what is your current case status if you check it on USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do

Mine still says "My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered."

I think the majority of folks who have received postal notices haven't had their online cases update. The recent flood of postal notices seems to have meant that USCIS have skipped over some of their usual protocol. FYI, both places where we can track our cases are showing the same they did as back in February.

First off.....Thanks Starsky for all of your hard work in creating & updating the chart for us February filers.

My wife's biometric appointment was scheduled for 8:00 am next Friday in Tampa.  Because we live about an hour and a half away we decided to see how long it would take us to get there.  After we arrived we walked into the building to make sure we were in the right place.  The security people suggested we see if she could get her fingerprints taken today.  We got in line and when we met the receptionist she told us it was our lucky day and took my wife's information.  We were finished in about 10 minutes.  All of the USCIS people at the Tampa office were exceptionally friendly, kind, & professional.  Gotta say we both were pleasantly surprised and hope that others have as nice an experience as we did today.

Superb! Great to hear stories like this where people have successfully managed to get a walk-in appointment. I did update your biometrics appointment to 05/18, let me know if that is incorrect.

Got my Biometrics letter earlier this week, waived! - but they keep the fee...oh well. one less thing to worry about.

What was the date you received the letter so I can add it to our tracking table? Congrats!

See posts in this thread a little earlier. Majority of us are seeing these messages, so no need to be alarmed. If you have not registered for the new DHS website to track your case, it is recommended. You will need to create a new account.

Just checked our status on the Case Tracker app on my Android phone and it shows "Fingerprint review was completed".   My wife's fingerprints were taken this past Friday in Tampa and we were a walk-in so we're pleasantly surprised by the update.  Hoping others will experience similar good news as well.  Thanks for updating, Starsky, we appreciate your hard work on our behalf.

lululola, may i ask why do you need a second biometric check? it looks most people here got a waiver. Did USCIS collect it when you apply for your 2 year greencard?

Ten year Green Cards are issued only to the lawful permanent residents of the United States and the USCIS issues two year conditional Green Cards to the conditional residents. These two year Green Cards cannot be renewed and at the end of the two year period, conditional residents along with their spouses must file petitions to remove conditions on their conditional status. If you hold a conditional Green Card, you will have to file Form I-751, around 90 days prior to the date of expiration of your conditional status, that is printed on your conditional Green Card. See to that you file this petition within the right window of time and your conditional status will be terminated if you fail to file your application at the right time.

This form can be downloaded from the USCIS website and you can fill this form by hand or you may fill out Form I-751 on your computer and print it and you may also file this form online. If you complete the paper form, see to that you sign and date your petition. If you and your spouse are separated and if you cannot file this petition jointly with your spouse, you will have to apply for a waiver before filing your petition. Remember that, if this petition is not filed at the right time, you will lose your status and will be removed from the United States.

Form I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence

You will have to complete all the seven sections of Form I-751 and this form is self explanatory. You just need to go through the form instructions to know about the form and about the filing instructions. Write your name and other information about you in the first section. You need to check the right box that applies to you, in the second section and you just need to go through the questions and check the right box. You need to list the date and place of your marriage in the third section and you need to read the other questions and check “yes” or “no” beside each question.

Enter information about your spouse and your children in the fourth and fifth sections and section six is meant for people with disabilities and if you need accommodations, you may complete this part. Finally, affix your signature in part seven and if your petition was prepared by someone else other than you, the person who completed your petition must sign in the last section of Form I-751.

Supporting Documents

Almost all the USCIS forms must be submitted along with few supporting documents and Form I-751 also must accompany few supporting documents. You may submit photocopies of the required supporting documents such as your conditional Green Card. You must also submit few other documents to support your relationship. To prove that your marriage is genuine, you may submit birth certificates of your children, financial records, joint tax returns and some other documents.

If you are not filing this form jointly with your spouse, you will have to submit your divorce decree, annulment record or your spouse’s death certificate, depending on your situation. If you were abused by your spouse and if you are unable to file this petition jointly due to that reason, you will have to submit copies of medical reports or police reports.

Form I-751 – Application Package

Your application package must contain, completed Form I-751, form filing fee and the required supporting documents. See to that you also include the biometrics fee. This application package must be mailed to address that is listed on the Form I-751, instructions page.

Do you get your current green card extended while waiting for the conditions to be removed? If so, how does that work and for how long?

This application package must be mailed to address that is listed on the Form I-751, instructions page.

lululola, may i ask why do you need a second biometric check? it looks most people here got a waiver. Did USCIS collect it when you apply for your 2 year greencard?

I think @lululola means they received the letter on May 11th and the appointment is scheduled for May 25th. It would be very concerning to me if USCIS completed a fingerprint review and then changed their mind...

My husband's biometrics is Friday (5/25/2018) and our status online says the exact same message, it hasn't changed. Hopefully USCIS is just behind. I will keep everyone posted if it changes after Friday's biometrics appointment. :)

I am curious if you know of any reason why you didn't receive a waiver like a lot of us did. Have you been outside of the US in the last 2 years, for example?

Hey all, my wife and I are May filers with the conditions expiring July 26. Question.

Do you get your current green card extended while waiting for the conditions to be removed? If so, how does that work and for how long?

It will be a one-year extension which you'll receive a letter for. Carry that along with your expired green card and your passport when you travel outside of the country.
