We're still holding out for our notice of biometrics (or reuse of them). Hoping the theory here ends up being what's up. My wife has traveled back to Canada 3 times since she got her initial GC, with our most recent trip being a couple weeks ago.

Hi guys, new to this forum 🙋So I filed my application to have conditions removed and the California center signed for my package on April 19th. It's May 14th today - check still not cashed and no acknowledgement at all received. My visa expires in a few weeks but I need to travel back to the Uk. Worse,  my work contract is due for renewal in two weeks.  Without my extension letter what can I do? I understand the whole process is currently taking 19 months, but has anyone else waited this long just for an acknowledgement? Getting really stressed!

Hello guys! I'm a new 2018 filing  member here. I sent my file on Feb8, they received it on Feb 12, got my one year card on the 20th. FINALLY today, I found out I don't have to do biometric just like most of you guys!

By the way has ANYONE changed their address in the middle of this filing?we are planning on moving into my parents house...i wonder if change of address will slow down the process😣

Yes, most of us waited that long, my check was cashed in a month, so relax it all good. I think they have lot of backlog, and you can’t call them till after 30 days.

It is well. Your NO1 receipt comes with one year extension. Stay blessed.

Hi Everyone! My husband received his Biometrics letter this weekend. It is for 5/25/2018. Two things - #1. I see most of the CA applicants received letters stating they are "Re-using Biometrics" should we be worried that they did not do that for our case? I feel like we are one of the only ones who has to go in. #2. My husband just has to bring his passport and Biometrics letter to appointment correct? Should he also bring his expired GC and extension letter? Glad to see things moving along. :)

Definitely no need to worry and from what we can see there is no significant logic as to why some get to reuse their biometrics and others don't. One theory is because of recent travel out of the country, but that's yet to be proven. As long as some sort of forward moving action is taking place in your case I would say that is a positive.

Hi guys,

My husband received his biometrics appointment letter, scheduled for May 24th. Of course, this happens to be a day we will be flying to another city, so we are looking at options for rescheduling. I see that we can send in the letter to reschedule, but we can make it to the ACS office on May 22nd. Do you think they will let us do the biometrics early? I scheduled an infopass appointment for the 22nd, I understand infopass appointments are different than biometrics, but in our case, they take place at the same office (Milwaukee)

Should I send in the letter to reschedule, or keep it and try getting the biometrics done at the infopass appointment? If we can't get it done at the info pass appointment can I still send the letter to reschedule even if it's only2 days before the original appt?

I called the number on the letter to ask but the first agent hung up on my (since I wasn't my husband) and the second agent told me my husband could call and reschedule on the phone, is that true?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome. I don't have you on our tracking table. Are you a February filer? Happy to add you if you are and can provide your details.

You can try a walk-in, some have had success with that, others haven't. If you run into a no then it typically helps if you say you've traveled from afar, they still may fit you in on the day. The beneficiary needs to be the one to call.

We too got notification that they would be reusing my husband's biometrics, dated 5/5/18. Because I have seen discussion of it, some may also be interested in knowing that he has left and reentered the US twice since getting his conditional green card.

Thanks. Added.

This should be your week for a notice based on current trends. It will be interesting to see if they reuse your wife's biometrics with what you've said. Definitely puts the theory to test.

Welcome! May I suggest this particular thread which will be more suited for your question? Others with a similar timeline will be better placed to tell you their experiences with current wait times. All of us in this discussion filed back in February. A month seems a little long to me for a check to get cashed. USCIS usually likes to bank that money pretty quick. Are you sure the package arrived? (By the way, it sounds like you need to schedule an infopass appointment based on your circumstances and need to travel. It's unlikely they will grant travel on an expired visa unless there are special circumstances FYI.)

Welcome! I am assuming you are a California filer but want to make sure before I add you to our tracking table? For changing your address you'll want to file form AR-11 (file online) and form I-865 (mail in). Fortunately, your risks of mail going missing is pretty low given your current address is your parents. There's definitely some risk attached to changing addresses mid application but many do it just fine. Did you already sign up for an online account with USCIS?

Updated tracking table below. I am happy to hear you guys appreciate the updates that I give :)

Hi Starsky,

Our submission date was 2/28/2018, received the NOA1 on 3/13/2018 (dated 3/8/2018) and biometrics is scheduled for 5/24/2018. Filed through CSC. My plan is to see if my husband can do it early, if we're not able to do the walk-in, I'll go send the letter to reschedule right away. We do have to travel 2.5 hrs so hopefully they understand. Thanks

Why is this always so nerve-wrecking?! :o

Our petition was delivered to the California service center on 5/5, greencard expires on 6/18. Are we able to keep working if we don't receive the extension in time, considering we have to file in this 3 month window?

I am a little nervous as I changed my address 6 months ago, and I am just hoping that didn't mess up anything.

So good to have you all!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this thread and wanted to share my dates too. I sent my  I-751 application on 2/2 to CA Service Center and received my NOA for 1 year extension on 2/10 (It is dated 2/6). I called USCIS towards the end of February to ask them about not receiving a BIO appointment letter. They told me that they will create an inquiry for me and if I did not hear back from them within a month to call them again. I received an email a couple weeks after saying that my fingerprints might be reused. On 5/11 I received a letter (dated 5/8) that there will be no BIO needed and they can reuse my fingerprints that have been captured before. I have been out of the country twice since receiving my 2-year GC and each time back to the States I had my picture and fingerprints taken. I am also leaving the country next week using my 1-year letter extension. I'll keep you posted.

And thank you to Starsky for keeping track on all those filers. The anxiety is definitely much less when there is someone who you could share this experience with and who is going through exactly the same steps.

Yes. Watch for the check to be deposited first and your NOA should follow soon after that. Check this thread for filers in your group, the majority of us in this one are Feb filers. If you changed your address recently go back to my post a few up from here for the two forms you need to make sure you've filed.

@starsky

Thanks! I did try and change the address a few months back, so before filing. Do you have any idea if that makes a difference?

Unfortunately I only sent it online... I really hope that won't be a problem :(

If you were successful changing it online you should have received an email confirmation. To my knowledge, and in my experience, they do not send out anything physical in the mail for the AR-11. Your NOAs for recent filings typically go to the addresses you listed when you filed (assuming that would be your new one), only the reminder notice to file commonly goes to people's old addresses.

The second form is for your sponsor (your spouse) and technically should be filed so that USCIS is aware of a change of address. Many don't file it and are just fine, but if you are like me and others who are on the side of caution, we filed it, despite changing addresses a long while ago. It's your call.

It not a problem I did same as you.

my friend didn’t change at all,  she has moved more than three times to different states.

but she never had any issues with addressing, but she got her green card in her new mailing address.

dont be worried. It is well.
