When you use a kiosk?

Yup. Every time. Don't know if it's just bad luck or if other GC holders have the same experience. Also, those kiosks really don't speed anything up, or maybe that's just flying into Oakland, CA and other places have their stuff together.

You probably said yes to one of the questions, had something to declare maybe. I get a cross if I've brought food otherwise I don't and it does speed things up. Since I didn't get a cross I got in a shorter line where I only got two questions (where have you been? how long?) and then I was on my way. Love the kiosks :)

Redstripe you are right about the Florida state’s Service location. I don’t get it Florida is on the East Coast the service center should be Vermont. It would make more sense but unfortunately the USCIS works the way they see it fit

Never have anything to declare, all answers should see me zip through but nope. Every. Time. Plus in Oakland, CA there's literally one line whether you get a clear picture or a cross. I'm hoping they're just working out the kinks because the whole system is still new there. Took my family nearly 2 hours to get through in February and with a hungry 6 month old in a carrier it was a tough wait.

That's weird. Maybe they give everyone a cross since they don't have a separate line yet? I don't know. I hope they fix it because when the airport is set up properly for use with the kiosks it's awesome, saves so much time. Really sucks that you guys had to wait so long with a little one :(

Do you know if it's the same as when we did the K1? Based on I think it was population of the state rather then location, or maybe it was based on how many petitions from each state. I forget. But it wasn't based on where your state was located.

I found myself reading through the December 2017 filers thread this afternoon to see if any progress had been made on California biometrics appointments. One member posted this email that they got back after enquiring about the status of their application, I thought it was worth sharing here with others. Maybe we will get lucky and they won't re-take our biometrics?

I just did a quick tally of their California applicants and who have received biometrics letters, only 36% so far have confirmed, yet many are still active and patiently waiting like the rest of us here. Less than 18% of Vermont filers are without a biometrics appointment and in truth, that's probably 0% as some of those may be just inactive members.

As reported earlier in this thread, it remains the case that not a single January 2018 filer from California has received their biometrics appointment, although several did receive emails this week of their cases being touched (but no action).

It is frustrating but I hold on to the fact that this is not isolated incidents and it appears to be impacting California filers from at least the past 3-4 months.

@starsky I frequently creep on the Dec 2017 and Jan 2018 filers' threads, too. It's so disappointing to be a CSC filer. In my preparation reading ahead for what to except for ROC, I saw that Vermont used to be the slow center. I thought it was gonna be a positive coincidence that we were moving from Boston to Dallas and getting to switch service centers when we eventually filed. Nope.

I wrote a full detailed account of our AOS process, timeline, AP use, and interview on my blog. You can read it here.

Read our experience clearing immigration with an expired green card and extension letter here.

Sorry to hear what you are going through with California, you can tell by my last post, I'm getting frustrated with this waiting around, but as Starsky just said, no one from the January filers in Cali have their biometrics either, just bad luck I suppose we got stuck with the California centre!

Unidentified, I don’t know at all since I don’t know anything about K1 Visa

I married a US citizen so I applied for removing of conditions based on marriage.

I was here legally before I met my husband.

I just had my biometrics taken today and it took like 10 minutes. I had a bandage on my index finger in my left hand and the guy asked me what happened there and I was like wth? But I realized he mentioned it because I was there for fingerprints! Lol

but they only took my right hand finger prints, a picture and that was it ;)

By the way for anyone going to do their biometrics, make sure u bring an ID other than the GC. I brought my passport but it has my maiden name on it, and even though the place was empty the guy asked why is the last name different from the married name! I explain but he said : do u have your marriage certificate with u? Thank god I brought it with me and I replied: I knew u were going to ask for it so I brought it!

Then he said: Smart girl, otherwise we will send u home!

So please to everyone that has a passport with maiden name in it bring ur marriage certificate so they don’t send u home !

They don't allow DL or they need two sets of ID's?

When the say in the letter for biometrics bring a valid ID they don’t mean your green card and NOA letter, they mean another ID (passport, DL, or State ID)

Just done with my biometrics:)

now it’s the waiting game but I know I can go to France now for 3 weeks

wonderful peace of mind!

Sorry for all Cali filers, hope it gets back on track soon!
