See FrenchKat, you were getting so worried about all this, I said it will come in time and it did, well done getting you Bio already, meanwhile us over at California......crickets, but never mind I'm still legal with that extension letter!

It must be penance fro getting my Green card in less than 7 weeks on AOS! lol

Indeed, thank you Redstripe, u know what I just responded to a thread on a biometric appointment question and someone replied that they filed in December 2017 and still have not received a biometric letter ! I don’t get it whit Cali ????? What’s going on! Sooo happy I filed at Vermont Center! Not to to be a “ hater”

if i filed @cali center I would not be able to go to France ! I would have lost 4 tickets since my husband won’t go to France with 2 kids without me lol.

He doesn’t speak a word of French except for “Merci” and a couple of other words

Why not? You only need the extension letter together with your expired Green Card right?

I bought tickets to go to France in early May so I was asking in an earlier thread if I bought my tickets too early ( as they are not refundable) to go and if my letter for biometrics would come before my flight and luckily for me Iam fine because I filed with the Vermont Service Center. If I was applying at the California Service Center I would miss my appointment .

And that would only makes my application takes longer .

Thats why redstripe was right :) he told me I will get the letter for biometrics before my flight :)

Yeah I feel the same way.  Back when we applied for K1 we got approved from NOA1 to NOA2 in three weeks.  CSC was fast back then and it helped us complete the process and be in person together much sooner than we anticipated.  So we have to wait now being at CSC, but we are together in person this time so it's not so bad.  Our AoS was only about 10 weeks too so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

I'm guessing that California Service Center is so far behind due to volume....I mean California alone has a population greater than Canada and most EU countries....add red tape and Voila!

Looks like we will have to attempt the early walk in on the 2nd.  My husband's work will not let him take off on the third.  :(   Hopefully USCIS will understand and let us be seen.

Sucks that they won't let him take time off to do immigration stuff :(

You guys were so lucky to have gotten your K1s and Green Cards so fast :P This is going to feel like a super long wait for you guys :P I had to wait almost 1 whole year for my K1 and almost as long for my Green Card.

What feels nice this time is, like ALIENRJ187 said, we're waiting together this time and not apart. And thankfully we still have our legal status while waiting.

Done with my bio today. Went in 15mins early and they let me process my bio. Code 5 is just picture taking and 4 right finger prints as they gonna use the old one from last application. Was done within 5 mins. Real waiting game begins!!!!!. Good luck to us guys.

Thanks for sharing your experience, hopefully, others will have a similarly quick in and out like yours.

Welcome! Since this particular thread is just a "progress for February 2018 filers" discussion, you'll probably want to post this to the forum here under a new thread:  http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/86-removing-conditions-on-residency-general-discussion/ there is also a good guide contributed to by many members here that will help answer some of your questions:

Yup, and I generally find it pretty strange that there are only two service centers in the entire country. Clearly, they are overloaded.

You would be wise to reschedule your appointment now since you'll know you will miss it unless the walk-in is successful. As others have said, it is disappointing that your husband's employer is not sympathetic to the situation. I suspect that issue is more common that perhaps we realize.

We're still waiting on your first move California service center! <_<
