I also just noticed something about our I-797.  On the letter in the Petitioner and Beneficiary category, it has the same person listed (my wife).  This seems normal since she is the one that is applying for RoC and would also be the beneficiary of it.  Correct me if I'm wrong though, as we triple checked all our forms and just now checked our own copy we kept and it is all on the up and up.

I think it's correct and you are correct. Mine is same.

That's good to know.  With having it sent out now there seems to be questions almost everyday like, "did I do this part right" or "did I forget this", stuff like that.  Thanks!

A little late to the party, but we filed for my wife's ROC mid-February and to the CSC (which sounds like they are extremely backed up). We got the NOA from USCIS around 2/21/2018 saying they received our application.

I am somewhat nervous because we are planning a ~10 day trip at the end of April / beginning of May, and I have no idea when/if to expect the biometrics appointment notice. If I recall correctly, the letter pretty much just gives you 10 days notice to be at your appointment, so I'm worried it will show up while we're gone. I have discussed with a friend to check out mail while we are gone, but what would our options even be if that happened (get the appointment while we are gone)? Do we need to end our trip early and head home? Or is it possible to reschedule the biometrics without harming our case (I've read before that it's best never to reschedule these things because it delays your case).

Or should I even expect a biometrics appointment, because she had one in October 2015 for the original 2 year GC, and I've read that they sometimes re-use those if they are "current". Or should we not even expect a biometrics appointment so soon, considering the CSC is so backed up (I believe currently processing applications from October 2016 as of the end of January)?

I think you're a ways from biometrics yet and definitely don't need to be concerned about not receiving it for now. I've also added you to our tracking table, so welcome to the group!

I suspect, as you say, your case went for extra verification. At least you have received your NOA and all is good. I've updated our tracking table to reflect that.

How exciting! I very much enjoyed putting our first biometrics appointment on the group tracking table! :)

Awesome. I got your message that the appointment is on March 26. For most of us, it should be April and early May for those later February filers. These letters should be coming thick and fast over the next few weeks. Exciting times!

Updated :)

Here's the updated tracking table featuring our first few biometrics appointments. Expect the next wave of appointments to hit those filers within close proximity. We're still waiting for our first California filer to receive their biometrics. Good luck, everyone!

We noticed this also. Called lawyer about this and they said it was normal.

Has anyone have been able to view their Receipt Number on the USCIS Case Tracker App and/or USCIS website? This is what we get when we try to add the case to our tracker app.. Invalid Receipt #EAC1811XXXXXX. Please check your receipt number and try again.

Mine is working just fine. There's no update on my status since march 5th which supposed to be updated as I have my bio letter with me already.

Same here, it says invalid receipt number, but I read somewhere in the letter that it better to start tracking after your biometric appointment. It works great 👍🏽 after that, so I have stoped🛑 trying  and not tracking it for now.

waiting for my biometric appointment letter.

even if I track it now, no changes it will just say biometric payment received so why not wait.

patience because we have a long waiting time.

my friend filed her i751 in 2017 April with CSC and no update yet nothing.

Good luck 👍🏽

I've heard that eventually that number will start working. When they send it to your local office.

question about the biometrics

1) Can your spouse come with you? or should you go alone?

2) Can you bring your child?

I have just received my biotmetrics for the vermont center on 3/27 but I'm not sure how to update that list, thank you

I think you are fine to bring your family, although they probably won't be able to join you at every stage. Most of us have gone through at least one biometrics appointment and can recall it only lasts a few minutes and is fairly painless. Great you received your biometrics appointment, I've updated our list.

Just talked to my friend that I mentioned in one of my first posts, the one that filed her ROC last year (march 2017) and she said she contacted USCIS for an update on her case. She received a letter confirming that as of March 4th of this year (a year after she filed) they just begun looking at her file and that it should take up to 180 days for her to receive her permanent GC in the mail. The person she spoke to at the USCIS hotline suggested that she made an infopass at the Chicago location to get another extension letter to the conditional GC. I mean I don't know if this is an isolated case - I hope it is - but looks like the wait is getting longer and longer.

:/

Certainly not an isolated incident, actually considered to be the norm. Brace yourself for a long wait.

If you would like to give specifics of your filing date, I can add you to our tracking table.

As for the biometrics appointment, it is to verify you are the same person that was granted the conditional status and that nobody is utilizing your status. I don't recall seeing any instances where USCIS don't mandate a biometrics appointment, but I could definitely be wrong.

question about the biometrics

1) Can your spouse come with you? or should you go alone?

2) Can you bring your child?

I have just received my biotmetrics for the vermont center on 3/27 but I'm not sure how to update that list, thank you

They could probably come with you but if possible (unless your spouse comes to translate) it would be better if your spouse stayed home with the kids. It can take a long time and I am sure your child would be bored. I haven't been to mine for the ROC but I did go for AOS and it was boring and took forever.

@starsky can you please update my info? Don't know why but it still says on the list I haven't received my NOA1... Received it on March 5th. Date on NOA1 says February 28. Thank you! :)

@starsky

USCIS received our case on 2/15/2018 and the NOA1 is dated 2/21/2018.

Is it possible/easy/reasonable to reschedule biometrics if it falls on our vacation date?
